Good stuff. It will also be interesting to see the list coming Sunday of the top freshmen coming into the Big East next season, and if any of our guys make it. I'd imagine both Summers and Macklin at least get mentioned.

The most interesting thing is that the author is the writer for the UCONN rivals site - he only has one UCONN player on the list. Is this an admission that it could be a down year for the Huskies?

Considering they lose their top 6 scorers, I think he was being generous squeezing Adrien in there. Yeah he's "one to watch" on UConn since he and Austrie get promoted from 7th and 8th man to the top two scoring options. Otherwise, the young Huskies might be headed for the NIT for the first time since '01.

I'm not going to bet against UConn. They reload. Also, Adrien is a monster. I'm curious about AJ Price too, if he's healthy/eligible.
Also, is the league really so drained that Terrance Roberts is one to watch? Is he good at anything other than hugging GMac after big shots? I'm a Randall Hanke fan myself - with Hanke and McDermott, Providence might crack the NCAAs.

never, never bet against uconn. we bet against marquette last year and look where they went. uconn has one of the best coach in the entire nation, and if anyone can lead his team to the tourny, its calhoun.

Roberts is a strong kid with a real power game - if he had any bball smarts he could be a dominant rebounder. That said, I don't see him stepping up his game much at this point. As for UConn, they have a pretty solid class coming in, and Calhoun is dangerous when they are overlooked.

Adrien is a beast and will compete for first team all league next year.

1. Who counted out Marquette last year? Not me. Nor is that in any way analogous to UConn.
2. Adrien is a beast, but before any All BE statements, I'd like to see him execute a few more scoring moves. Right now, he's a garbage man, at least from what I've seen. Uconn may struggle because I'm not sure who scores on that team.
3. A down year for UConn is not the same thing as a down year for most.

Terrence Roberts? Didn't Magoo say the Orange wouldn't have won 10 games without RatNamara this year? I say we take him up on that offer next year.

No doubt that Adrien needs to improve...but he has all the weapons.
Preseason hype is good and bad. This is a new situation for us as of late. Let's see how we handle it.

Alright, I emailed the author and he emailed me the link for the article... connecticut.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=539414You need a rivals membership to read it, so anyone with a membership, could you let the rest of us know what it says?

I'll list the players but not the text, for copyright purposes:
Stanley Robinson, UConn
DaJuan Summers, Georgetown
"Rated the ninth-best small forward and 23rd best player overall in the class, the 6-foot-8 forward will have a chance to contribute early for the Hoyas.
Summers, from Baltimore (Md.) McDonough, averaged 20.4 points and 11.6 rebounds in his junior season.
"I'm basically the leader of the team," Summers said. "I'm going to do whatever the team needs me to do this year. If that means more rebounding, scoring or leading by example, I'm going to do it.""
Earl Clark, Louisville Derrick Caracter, Louisville Paul Harris, Syracuse
