Mark Heisler, the NBA writer for the LA Times, does an article every year on the prospects in the upcoming draft. His list this year was put together with the assistance of five NBA people (unnamed) and Frank Burlison, so it isn't solely his view.
There was nary a Hoya mentioned. No Jeff, no Roy, no body. Actually, Brandon Roy was listed fourth, but that doesn't count. Big East players mentioned were Rudy Gay (6), Randy Foye (8), Hilton Armstrong (20) and Dominic James (26). Just outside the top 30 were Gansey, Pittsnogle, Aaron Gray, Kyle Lowry and Allan Ray.
While this is a little bit insulting, it can perhaps also be taken as a good indication that no one will be leaving prematurely after this season to head for the NBA. I know we hadn't really contemplated that, anyway, so perhaps this is just confirmation.
By the way, Noah and Horford came in at 14 and 15. Let's rub it in their faces on Friday.

This is good news. Roy needs more work despite his past two games. Jeff will be better served improving his inbetween jumper for at least another year. The reason you see the current parity with mid-majors winning is a lot of those squads are full of seniors that understand the college game. George Mason is a great example of this. If we can keep our guys in school, I think that is as important a factor in recruiting a kid as possible, will he stay four years?

Gregg Doyel had a story about GU and ohio State the other day, particularly how both teams will be even better next year. He discussed the possibility of Roy and Jeff coming out, then noted that both had "unequivocally" told Sportsline people that they would be back at GU next season. Unless someone gets in their ears, nothing to worry about.

I am concerned about departures. I want the best for Jeff and Roy, but they are playing their way into the league. I agree that they are not ready, but that is irrelevant. It wouldn't surprise me if a team would take a chance on either of them. They are playing great.

Erata: Josh Boone was also on the list, at number 17. I guess I was just so blown away by his 0 point 2 rebound performance yesterday that I inadvertently omitted him.
