Always great to hear from you, JC, and I love that kind of attitude to start the season. As a Red Sox fan, I can use some of that unbridled optimism right now.

Due to inexperience in the front-court, the Hoyas will definitely struggle this year...
They'll be a solid 2nd round NCAA team next year...
We're bound for the NIT this year though...if we can beat enough MEAC opponents...

What MEAC opponents??? This is our least soft schedule I can remember.
We play Howard, Norfolk, and Grambling (I think). That's it.

We don't play Grambling this year. Norfolk State and Howard are our only MEAC opponents, but The Citadel and San Jose State should be MEAC-like.

Just Howard and Norfolk...SOS goes up, but unfortunately, the opponents that are guaranteed wins decreases also... SOS doesn't mean much when we don't have enough wins to get us in the tourney...

SJ state is WAC or MWC; they are no MEAC.
We're already down to 2 MEACs.
Hope the guys develop quick!

Well, winning eight games a year against MEAC teams hadn't helped us make the tourney so what would be the point of going down that road again?

Well, winning eight games a year against MEAC teams hadn't helped us make the tourney so what would be the point of going down that road again? But you didn't even play the top three MEAC teams in any of the recent years except for one...Hampton in the NCAA tourney... I could at least give G'Town the benefit of the doubt if they scheduled Hampton or Coppin State... G'Town waited until Howard University had 'fallen from grace' before they even scheduled them...I would have loved to have seen A&T or Howard on the Hoyas' schedule in the late 70s early 80s... I expect for you to beat the lower-echelon of the MEAC quite handily but you don't even attempt to schedule teams from which you'd actually benefit playing... Even if you put A&T on your schedule, you'd at least have a crowd...The largest A&T alumni chapter outside of North Carolina is in D.C....

However, they still aren't much of an opponent. San Jose State finished last in the WAC last year with an overall record of 6-23 and 1-17 in conference. I still want to say that I love to see a match up like this rather than the same old boring MEAC opponents year after year, and especially having it in McDonough. Great work Coach!!!!

The Hoyas were lucky to play the Bison. If the first John Thompson had been coaching rather than Esherick Gtown would have never scheduled Howard University.
