Fairfield at Rider Vanderbilt at Kentucky
Big one for Vandy. A win there would really put them at a solid RPI, probably top 20.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that sadly, Vandy has little chance to win this game. I expect Kentucky to bounce back with a vengeance following the pummeling they took from Kansas on Saturday, particularly since this game is in Lexington.
But go Vandy, anyway.

Fairfield wins, 85-81. Final, with apologies to lichoya for the typo. Vandy leads, 10-9, in what must be an ugly contest. 7:55 to go in half.

I'd play Vandy or Kentucky at horse right now. This is awful.
Elsewhere, Oklahoma should slide to #25 after losing to Mizzou and going 0-2 in the worst Big Six conference. They are still riding high off their win over Samford though so that might resonate with the voters.

As for OU, I'm glad they lost. Now we can see Florida State move up to #25. The ACC hasn't been getting enough pub, in my opinion. With a SOS of 275, it is obvious they are going out and playing people while we aren't.

BC now #12 in the ACC and #15 in the country.
I didn't realize the ACC had 11 teams in the top 15.
Vandy wins. Let's now put any doubt that we have no bad losses to rest. But at the same time, I know we blew a 13-point lead to them but that was Thanksgiving so let's not dwell either. (Although would be nice to have a real home court where we could schedule this one ourselves in the future).
It's conference season time and there's a big one tomorrow. Go Hoyas.

Our loss there seems not so bad now.

Good for Vandy. Even though Kentucky is really not all that great this year compared to last year and other years, and they've been inconsistent thus far... I think that going forward you'll see Kentucky get their act together meaning that a win @kentucky will be better for Vandy's RPI when all is said and done. If they can win @arkansas on Saturday, which won't be easy, they should certainly be ranked next week.

They are still riding high off their win over Samford though so that might resonate with the voters. So WVU walloping struggling (but still ranked until now) Oklahoma in Oklahoma = unimpressive, but Vandy beating struggling (and unranked for the first time in years) Kentucky = impressive, and therefore Georgetown losing to Vandy = impressive. Makes perfect sense. Not a hint of pro-Hoyas subjectivity influencing that analysis. My view: WVU walloping Oklahoma = nice if not incredible win that to date outshines anything on our resume. Vandy beating Kenucky = good win for Vandy Hoyas losing to Vandy at home = disappointing but not devastating loss for the Hoyas. I point all of this out in the interest of demonstrating two points: 1. Giga's predictably hypocritical pro-Hoyas college basketball analysis (you'll have to read the power rankings thread from the other day to understand fully)--perfectly understandable and even laudable if he'd admit to it, tiresome and disingenuous since he doesn't. 2. We need to win one of these next two games badly.

Happy to have been wrong. Way to end a 29-game road losing streak against UK, Vandy!
