Kansas continued atop the Associated Press Top 25 this week, after the Jayhawks defeated Howard (87-57) and then-#9 ranked North Carolina (92-89). Alabama and Connecticut likewise maintained their positions at #2 and #3 respectively; the Crimson Tide rolled over North Carolina Asheville (110-54) and Arkansas State (88-79), and the Huskies defeated Sacred Heart (92-56) and New Hampshire (92-53). Gonzaga moved up two slots from #6 to #4 after the Zags defeated then-#8 ranked Baylor (101-63) and Arizona State (88-80), and Auburn moved up six spots from #11 tom #5 after the Tigers picked up victories against Vermont (94-43) and then-#4 ranked Houston (74-69).
The Big East Conference now has four ranked schools in the AP Top 25, including UConn. Creighton moved up one slot from #15 to #14 after the Bluejays defeated Texas Rio Grande Valley (99-86) and Fairleigh Dickinson (96-70), and Marquette moved up three spots from #18 to #15 after the Golden Eagles defeated New York Stony Brook (102-62) and George Mason (82-63). St. John’s is ranked for the first time this season, coming in at #22 after the Red Storm defeated Fordham (92-60) and Quinnipiac (96-73). Xavier and Providence also received votes in this week’s polls.

St. John’s was joined by Ohio State in making the AP Top 25 for the first time this season, as the Buckeyes were ranked #21 after defeated then-#19 ranked Texas, 80-72.
