The remaining states and Washington, D.C., do not require any documentation to vote at the polls:
California
Hawaii
Illinois
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Nevada
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Pennsylvania
Vermont
This has to change. The vote in these states is obviously under a cloud. I have been asked for an ID when I have gone to pick up a takeout pizza at a busy pizzeria. I have a friend in Ventura County, CA who has received three official mail-in ballots in the mail.
And it is ridiculous to watch national elections in the past year in Japan, the UK and France where the result was settled within 24 hours of the polls closing.
We can do better.

By the way I just voted and am very impressed with security in Virginia. They took a picture of my license, made me declare my address, compared it to the voter roll; I then used a paper ballot which I fed into a machine in front of a poll watcher.
Virginia is rock solid secure and gives me faith in the count and democracy,

Oddly enough, in New Jersey I also submitted by DL and had the same exact process laid out above for Virginia...
