Since this will be very competitive, it deserves a thread of its own. Georgetown vs Providence in the women's race will be the feature. Either one of the can win. If the Hoyas win it will be their 5th straight win. So that is why Providence is stacked. I don't think they have shown all their cards, as two of their best runners might open up their season at the Big East.
Georgetown's women team: Chloe Gonzalez, Mary Grace Hegberg, Lucy Jenks, Barrett Justema, Fiona Max, Olivia Morganti, Ruth Nerurkar, Melissa Riggins, Chloe Scrimgeour, Charlotte Tomkinson. The names in bold are probably the best seven.
In the men's race Villanova is favored, but don't count out the Hoys as they seem to get better in each race. If they can get a solid fifth man, I think they will do well. Men's lineup: James Dunne, Derek Fearon, Lucas Guerra, Birhanu Harriman, Jack McLoughlin, Charlie North, Luke Ondracek, Abel Teffra, Alazar Teffra, Theo Woods. Those in bold are probably the top five.

Unofficial results: Georgetown 42, Providence 43. Chloe Thomas from UConn blew everyone away to win gold.

Goes to show how much of a difference scoring rules make. Hoyas put 8 runners ahead of Provy's 5, including a pack of FIVE runners in 13th through 17th place. That pack ended up blocking out the Providence fifth runner, which made the winning margin.
If the top 7 or 8 were scored, this is a blowout.
Congrats to the women! #RingSZN

3. Chloe S. 19:53.2 5. Lucy Jenks 19:59.3 7. Melissa Riggins 20:09.1 13. Barrett Justema 20:48.1 14. Charlotte Tomkinson 20:49.9 15. Olivia Morganti 20:53.9 16. Fiona Max 20:56.2 17. Almi Nerurkar 20:57.2 33. Chloe G. 21:58.8 68. Mary Grace Hegberg 23:10.42
Georgetown: 3+5+7+13+14=42 Providence: 2+6+8+10+17=43 (the 5th Provy women finished 18, but the Hoyas had 8 runners before the Provy runner, so the 8th Hoya runner did not score, so the Provy runner scored 17. Indeed this was a very close race). It looks like the Hoyas got their 5th straight win. Still unofficial. The protest window closes in 20 minutes.

It's still astonishing to me that the flagship public university of a wealthy state like Connecticut felt compelled to discontinue their men's cross country program. St. John's is one thing, but UConn? I guess they make up for it in track and decided that was the better investment.

A terrific result for the Hoya women, Providence is loaded this year. Our top three ran as expected, but it was also wonderful to see how well our 4-9 runners performed.

A terrific result for the Hoya women, Providence is loaded this year. Our top three ran as expected, but it was also wonderful to see how well our 4-9 runners performed. This was also a challenging race experience, all things considered (unseasonably warm, hills, tight turns, etc.). Not as tough as Nuttycombe, but you can start to see both changes over the course of a season and how different runners do better under different conditions and on different courses. Compare Nuttycombe, Princeton, and Big East: Nuttycombe:Sadie Sigfstead (Villanova) - 19:55.7 Kimberley May (Providence) - 20:12.4 Melissa Riggins (Georgetown) - 20:16.1 Shannon Flockhart (Providence) - 20:25.8 Lucy Jenks (Georgetown) - 20:26.7 Alex Millard (Providence) - 20:31.1 Chloe did not participate in this one. Princeton: Kimberley May (Providence) - 19:16.1 Chloe Scrimgeour (Georgetown) - 19:23.3 Lucy Jenks (Georgetown) - 19:33.9 Alex Millard (Providence) - 19:36.0 Melissa Riggins (Georgetown) - 19:47.1 Sadie Sigfstead (Villanova) - 19:48.6 Shannon Flockhart (Providence) - 19:50.9 Big East: Alex Millard (Providence) - 19:50.61 Chloe Scrimgeour (Georgetown) - 19:53.12 Sadie Sigfstead (Villanova) - 19:56.25 Lucy Jenks (Georgetown) - 19:59.30 Kimberley May (Providence) - 20:00.65 Melissa Riggins (Georgetown) - 20:09.08 Shannon Flockhart (Providence) - 20:13.83
