There's nothing I can add to all of the above (I think I put likes on at least a dozen of these posts). A very sad day.

I never will forget watching Dikembe from the upper levels of the Cap Center. Even from up there, you could hear Big John screaming his name. He had a huge learning curve, but obviously became an amazing player through hard work and dedication. Gettting dunked on never made him back down. That is not easy to do.
Even more obvious is that Dikembe epitomized everything GU Basketball was meant to be. He was a Hall of Fame player, but an even more amazing human. That is rare. His impact will be felt around the glove for a long time.
It seems fair to assume that for many on this board, Hoya hoops is about a lot more than wins and losses. It is a sad day for all of us. At the same time, we all should be grateful that even from a distance, we got to watch this great man. May some of his example trickle down to all of us, certainly including me. His death is a stark reminder of what life is all about.
RIP and thank you for letting me root for you, Dikembe.

Wow. Truly saddened by this. A Georgetown legend on and off the court. A pure, classy humanitarian. He and his infectious smile will be missed.

So many wonderful remembrances about someone who meant so much to all of us. I am truly heartbroken for Dikembe's family and close friends on this sad day. Dikembe happened to pass on my Mother's birthday, her first since she died earlier this year. While this is utterly meaningless in the grand scheme, I did want to share that, for these many years since Deke played at Georgetown, my Mumma would always respond when my Hoya hoop obsession came up by reciting as much of Dikembe's full majestic name that she could summons at the moment, "Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo..etc.".. A strange moment of joy on an immensely sad day.
RIP Dikembe

Every NCAA player should have a “55” patch on every jersey this season.
