Intrigued. Always nice to add another top 100 kid to the roster.

Know zero about this guy. What can we expect from him?

Know zero about this guy. What can we expect from him? Was a top 100 4 star known as a sharpshooter at nearly 6'7. Cooley was all over him out of high school. Had a rough shooting season as a freshman at Louisville. Would be nice for once to get a shooter that actually shoots well for us. Gotta assume he's a backup guy who might be able to spread floor.

Former Top 100 kid. In fact was once Top 30 early in his HS career. Finished 2nd for Mr Michigan his senior year. Capable 3 pt shooter (multiple games with 4+ makes last year) who played in every Louisville game last year as a freshman, and when he got minutes he generally produced.
As I said on the recruiting sub, he strikes me as a typical Cooley PC transfer, someone who maybe needed a change of scenery and is worth a flier on. I think at this point, a shot worth taking. Could be a 3 year player for us. I’d expect him to get a shot at 10-15 mins a game based on lineups.

Good to know he has a rep as a sharpshooter, even if things didn’t work out for him at Ville. Hopefully Cooley can get the most out of him as a floor spacer and wing defender.

Nice win for coach Henton. With the roster we have, we need some catch and shoot guys who their whole game is spotting up off the ball and knocking down 3s. He fits this. He was shooting 34% from 3 until the last month of the season when he hit nothing 4-26 to finish out with spotty playing time.

Watched his mixtape from Louisville year. He looks to have super long arms and should be good defensively. Good looking shooting stroke and finishing. But only shot 32% from the field and <30% from 3 last year. Dribbling probably needs more reps. Did a lot better against worse competition earlier in the year. I imagine he just needs more reps and hopefully he will stick around for a few years with us to be a legitimate contributor in the future.

His FR profile is very similar to Jahvon Blair. Hopefully he can make the jump JB did (after his SO gap year) to become a big shot maker and better all-around talent. Curtis should have a lot more help around him to make that happen.

In his final 10 games he shot 5 for 36 from deep (14%). He shot 35% up to that point. I think the 28% is going to be the low point of his career.

The real question is…can he carry the torch from guys like Reggie Cameron and Kaiden Rice?

The real question is…can he carry the torch from guys like Reggie Cameron and Kaiden Rice? I would think the real question is whether the last month of his freshman season was the anomaly, and we can get 35%+ from him. But you go ahead and do your thing. I was done with my coffee anyway.

Putting any shooter in the same lineup with Mack is going to raise FG%.

Congrats to Curtis, his family, Coach Cooley and staff! Someone should introduce him to the Georgetown towpath. Several miles a day should build his stamina, plus it’s a beautiful jog.
