I cannot understand for the life of me how we cannot sign international guys like this. We should be a top 5 school in that regard given our location, reputation, etc. 100%. Confusing why we aren’t involved with some of these frontcourt guys that have signed over the last few weeks

Yes, a big miss by Cooley early on. It's insane to me that anyone interviewing for the Gtwn head coaching job would not have a plan "coming in" to get top Intl recruits as way to bring the program back--reflects poorly on both Cooley and the Gtwn admin.
On the flip side it's something that we should be able to address now.

Cooley never won big at Providence. Why did people all of a sudden expect Cooley, at age 55, to come to Georgetown and do well at things he's never done well at before? He's giving us exactly what should be expected based on his track record.

We have definitely spoken with agents for several top international players over the few weeks—-None of whom decided to play college ball next year

I'm not sure how you come up with he is giving us exactly what should be expected with that disappointing first year. How many years in his career did he have a year like that? The only part you got right is his international recruiting which is such a small part of players in D1. How many players a year come from overseas? I don't know and don't care to figure it out so I can certainly be wrong and to be fair to you he should be turning over every rock he can.

For now, I think people would be thrilled if Cooley gave Georgetown 7-8 tournament bids in the next 10-12 years.

Nice interview by Holloway
“This year I wanted to bring in guys that could f***ing compete,” he said. “My mindset was I’m bringing in a bunch of guys that could play and compete and I think that brings the best out of a team.”
Asked what he was looking for from the portal, Holloway said, “I wanted more guys that could play multiple spots. I wanted more size as far as at the guards’ spot. I wanted more guys that could get to the basket. I wanted some shooters. I just wanted a team where I could play 10-11 guys, where I don’t have to play one guy 30-35 minutes.”

One of the reasons for Cooley to come to a place like Gtwn is that he could do things here that he can't do at Providence like Intl recruiting. I get that he didn't do it before, but I'd expect him to be capable enough to expand his horizons here.

I think he will be more able to do that better once new recruits get a better sense of what Georgetown offers them (since our brand and history is all but non-existent to anyone born from 2005 and after). He has the resources and facilities, etc., but he needs more to present to a 19-year old that will compete with the rest of the BE as well as Kentucky, et. al. A couple of winning seasons should do the trick.

Let's crawl, then walk and then run...yes winning will cure a lot of things...but winning isn't that simple...
