So upset darlings and potential Cinderella teams McNeese (bye, Will Wade) and College of Charleston got clobbered, while Yale and Oakland moved on. I did not have Yale or Oakland in my brackets. I guess I should have picked against the SEC. At least James Madison is moving on. It was mentioned in the telecast that back in the day James Madison beat - wait for it - Georgetown. As I recall that was one of Pops' early NCAA teams.

This time of year always gives rise to “why don’t we have a player like [Player X who just dropped 30 on 10 3’s]”
While I don’t really buy into that (one and done format creates Madness, as they say), I’m more concerned that Cooley’s playbook doesn’t seem to effectively move the ball and find the open 3. Lots of teams playing NBA-style, hockey assist, DHO. Hoyas still seem stuck in “dribble the first 10 seconds off the clock or do a 3 man weave”. Checkers vs 4-d chess

Meanwhile, Marquette has this crazy passing system in which they pass it to open space and plan on their player moving to that space and driving recklessly into the lane only to launch a no look pass to a spot there is an open teammate waiting. Passing per possession is light years ahead of what the Hoyas are able to accomplish.
It is enjoyable to watch even for a rival fan.

I may have missed it but in the NCAAs I have yet to see a ball dominant guard pounding the ball for 10 seconds before initiating any offense or his own offensive move.

Big Ten getting embarrassed with Wisconsin and Nebraska. Same with Mountain West and ACC yet NCAA selection committee blocked Seton Hall, St John’s and Providence from the tournament

Every time Wisonsin had the ball on offense they were fouled repeatedly by every JMU player within reach.

Freakin' St. Mary's just became my first bracket buster. Had them in the Final Four. Don't know a ton about them - just like the way the play every time I see them on late night basketball. GCU - ugh.

No but Seton Hall is arguably the class of the remaining teams

To be fair, it’s not exactly like the Big East is tearing it up in the NIT. No buy Seton Hall is arguably the class of the remaining teams Exactly - no one made an argument for Xavier or Butler to be in the tournament, and Providence didn't belong in it either. It was Seton Hall and St. John's that had valid claims.

But St. John’s was borderline, probably should have made it. The poster also mentioned Providence, though. And they did not acquit themselves well.
