Cook looks like Hopkins tonight. Lots of trouble finishing at the rim.

Cook looks like Hopkins tonight. Lots of trouble finishing at the rim. He’s now 3 out of 12.

Effort is there, talent is not. Just cannot stop those open layups.
Cook cannot anything to drop because everything is being contested by bigger, more athletic guys. (No pun intended, just cannot think of a better word right now).

Cook sorts out how to ensure the ball goes in, slam it in.
Now do that every time

What did Epps just do? That was a mess.

Fitting that our last effort is cut short by giving up an uncontested drive for a dunk.

What did Epps just do? That was a mess. Honestly I blame Styles on that one just as much. Had the look, hesitated, then put Epps in a bad spot and Epps panicked. Styles still doesn't want a big shot. Hopefully that comes next year.

A few more layups and we win this. If they play like this we should beat DePaul (I think?).

Wish them well, but the Jay Heath an Ismael Massoud eras need to be retired. They are not the future.

St Johns and Pitino are horrible basketball team and coaching staff. Gtown had no business making it a game at the end.

I have had it. It is time for both Pitino and Cooley to hand out Walmart applications to many of both teams. The absolute lack of basketball acumen has been and continues to be extraordinary. Where to begin? Let's stay with Georgetown, but I bet the St. Johns faithful could add a boatful. There is no semblance of college basketball tradition in either program.
Epps is a great scorer who continues to fall asleep on passes, defense, and team play. Rowan played as good as he could, but when Massoud and Heath continually pass out and leave him defending the drives to the basket, it is appalling. Cook does the best he can...let me say that again the best he can, how do you continually miss layups and dunks. And Styles, I have to wonder if he mentally leaves the floor when he becomes distracted. Fiedler and Bristol played team ball. The rest, give them the door. This is a big-time program with a legacy But playing like amateurs in a pickup league.
I told my wife, a long-time Georgetown fan, that Pitino and Cooley should have ended the madness at the four-minute mark and said, 'ok, you get one free throw, and we get one, that is it. Let's go home.
The good news is that both will rebound next year, understanding the insanity of the NIL. I recommend that the head of the NCAA, Baker, say, and he won't, enough of the madness. No more transfers through the Portal, but you abide as every student is treated. No money, no class transfers, you are a college student not a professional. You want to leave, there is the door; be careful not to let it hit you on your way out.
