Obviously a big game for ND. A real test for Cooley and the Hoyas. Can we avoid an embarrassing blowout loss? Not feeling confident.

Only seen a couple of their games this season but they're a young team that starts two freshmen, with anywhere around four freshmen getting significant playing time, and still seem to be looking to solidify an identity as a team.
Top scorer is their frosh PG Burton, who's a good ballhandler but let him shoot threes and focus on stopping his mid range pullup game and dribble drive. A couple of their bigs can hit threes so that could space us out but outside of Roper and Konieczny, I don't think they really have too many consistent three-point threats in their backcourt so we should stick to man. Get them to funnel the ball to coach's son when the shot clock runs down because he tends to shoot really bad under pressure (although he does the little things well). No real physicality with this team, except their CG Roper who's gonna try to back down and post up whoever's on him.

I don’t see how this team can beat anyone on the road, even as bad as ND may be, without Epps. There simply isn’t enough offense to make up for the poor defense.
It’s too bad because this is a winnable game with Epps it would appear. Would love to be proven wrong here.

Agreed. Also, what is the CW (kidding)? I had to search for it here in Delaware to confirm I get it with my DirectTV package. They have made a recent foray into sports with LIV Golf and the ACC. My understanding is that the production is done by the ACC Network / ESPN.

ND -4.5.
Vegas doesn’t think much of ND. Unclear if that is assuming Epps is playing?

Could use some help --
I have Apple TV and have downloaded the app for CW. Looks like I can access shows and streaming.
Question: how do I find the game listing? Looked all over and got nada. Unless it doesn't appear until the day of.
Another question: is it possible to record the game? Nothing I could see anywhere but always possible I missed something.
Thank you (in advance)!

from SSHoya: SOUTH BEND − It just evolved. Notre Dame men's basketball was the newbie on the Big East block in the mid-1990s, playing in a basketball-only league made up of schools – mostly private – that stretched along the East Coast. Maybe it was that both schools were private. Or maybe it was the heavy Washington-area influence that influenced the program from Indiana. Whatever the case, Notre Dame established something of a rivalry with Georgetown during its 18 seasons as conference colleagues. The games weren't necessarily bitter, but the games mattered. www.ndinsider.com/story/sports/mens-basketball/2023/12/15/top-5-moments-from-notre-dame-mens-basketball-series-with-georgetown/71823139007/reply from bluegray79: More than private, it was that both schools are Catholic. As a product of 16 years of Catholic schooling (the last 4 being at Georgetown), I can say that we loved our sports and we got up for games against certain Catholic rivals more than any other games. It's definitely a part of the sports culture that exists between Catholic schools anywhere I've gone. Outside of sports, I believe that there certainly exists a healthy rivalry between GU & ND with regard to the national ranking of the undergrad programs, grad programs, and law schools. Many times, oneupmanship is "settled" (for some students and alums) by the results of athletic competition. Guess we have to go out tomorrow and settle this thing for the time being, eh? haha Hoya Saxa
