One of our HoyaTalk readers has passed along news that longtime poster Easy Ed passed away recently at the age of 92.
Ed was one of the originals that made its way to Proboards when we moved here in 2004 and was a spirited but respectful voice on basketball and a few topics over at the Blue & Gray board.
More on his story follows at the front page.

Really nice guy. I didn't know him well but I got know him a bit offline at Georgetown games years ago. He will be missed. Thanks for the front page writeup.

May you rest in peace, EasyEd. I remember how sad he was when his wife passed a year or two ago. EasyEd, I hope that you have been reunited with your love.

While I had some spirited political disagreements with Ed on B&G, I also had private DMs with him regarding our Navy service and our fathers who were both in the Army. His father was also a Hoya, C '22, and just missed service in World War I.
RIP

Sad news indeed. Ed was a year ahead of my father at Georgetown. Ed loved a good discussion, especially if it was about Georgetown or his beloved Catholic Church. You always knew his posts came from the heart. A life well lived. My favorite quote from his obituary: He did not live to win popularity contests, but popular he was for his wisdom and old-fashioned morals. Rest in peace. www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/charleston/name/edwin-o-neill-obituary?id=53230795

Indeed, sad news. I just found out about Ed's death two minutes ago. Ed had been in my prayers, and I will continue to pray for his soul and for his family. May he rest in peace.
