Granted LeMoyne isn’t terribly good, but we are doubling them up and appear to be playing with a real plan on both sides of the ball.
Last years team might have 47 points at half, but would only be up 5.

What an excellent unselfish half from Epps... Yes, very good balance between probing offense and hitting open guys. Well done!

Cook needs some serious work on his hands. Wow he gets stripped easily. I find it hard to believe that Ryan is worse than him. He has stone hands and I don't know how he is going to finish against Big East players if he can't do it tonight. Agree, happy w/everything but Cook's play was concerning...but first half of the first game and maybe some opening night jitters...but Mutumbo deserves a few more minutes w/cook playing like that...

It seems there is a reversal of what should be: Brumbaugh has more points than Epps, and Epps has 5 assists to 1 for Brumbaugh. But, assists from PGs. Guards looking to play with teammates. This is a nice change.

He moves with real purpose, even if he's tried a little too hard a few times. I think he's going to be a very good college player. Epps's court vision and quick decisions have been fun to watch. Love Cooley's enthusiasm, trying to get crowd into it after a hard hustle play from Wayne.

Oddly enough, Cooks hands were a huge asset at Fairfield. It's been bad, but hopefully just some jitters.

As someone who saw Cook play at Fairfield, I think this is who he is. Perhaps some jitters too. When he was brought in I had serious concern about making the leap into the BE. Perhaps he can develop, but I think this is the weak spot obviously. I was cautiously optimistic Ryan would make the leap and lessen the need for Cook’s minutes, but based on the usage that half, it doesn’t seem to be the case. The good news is Sorber is coming. The bad news is he’s a year away.

I remember when someone on here was saying that Epps scoring 46 was a bad sign .... it's not. Epps playing absolutely within the offense and getting everyone involved. I'm super impressed with him and Fielder.
We're going to struggle scoring in the paint though.

Cook needs some serious work on his hands. Wow he gets stripped easily. My thought as well. Hope it's a one off.

Lots to love. - The team has a plan on offense and defense.
- The team actually passes.
- The team moves. Very little standing around.
- The team defends the three.
- The team looks like they like playing together and enjoy when a teammate scores.
- That Bristol play was more effort than the last two seasons combined ... and Cooley was out there making sure he got credit.
- There was actual smart coaching in the huddle (too impatient on offense) and when players made errors.
Yes, LeMoyne is terrible. And yes, Cook's inability to finish down low is a real concern -- it will be much harder for us if there's no inside threat. But we have a coach again! And the team is playing like a team!

...and yes we can all agree Le Moyne is not good but also keep in mind.
Indiana 14 point favorites tonight against FGCU at home down 3 with 11 to play.
St Johns up 11 over Stony Brook at home at half.
MD 20 point favs (so was Gtown) up 14 at half versus St Mary's and only 31 points for MD at half...
So yes not a good opponent but solid result comparitively speaking...

And the team is playing like a team! Agree with all of this. From an individual standpoint, I would single out Epps, who is clearly not a me first player, Styles, who looks much better than I was expecting, and Grant, from whom I was expecting, well, I don't know what, but seems to have a shooting eye and hustles.

This is the part of Epps that has shown itself. His attitude is not great when things dont go his way. Cooley has to harness it and Epps has to listen.

If this was Akinjo, Spears, Murray, chances Ewing would sit him?!
