"Republicans" are simply despicable. Lawyer says DeSantis’s office pressured him to send abortion ad letters to TV stations Letters that threatened Florida TV stations with criminal penalties if they aired a political ad backing a referendum that would repeal the state’s six-week abortion ban came directly from Gov. Ron DeSantis’s office, according to the attorney who signed and sent them. Attorney John Wilson said that he resigned as general counsel for the Florida Department of Health rather than “complying with the directives” of DeSantis’s executive staff to send more cease-and-desist letters to TV stations running the ad. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/21/desantis-florida-abortion-ad-tv-amendment-4/

But when the government is stifling free speech with actual First Amendment implications, you don’t hear a peep because they agree with what DeSantis is doing. Hypocrites and liars from top to bottom. They have no true ideology except for forcing whatever they want at any given time on everybody else.

This post from happyhoya79 after MSNBC's editorial choice to not cover Don the Con's victory speech in the Iowa primary and his silence now demonstrates both MAGA GOPers ignorance and hypocrisy: "The refusal of MSNBC to air the obviously newsworthy event of Trump's Iowa victory speech is one of the darkest chapters in the history of the first amendment of the United States."

I see Rudy living in a van down by the river soon . . . A federal judge has ordered former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani to place numerous assets, including cash, jewelry and his New York apartment, into a receivership controlled by two former Georgia election workers as they seek to collect a $148 million defamation claim against him. The 24-page ruling issued Tuesday orders Giuliani to place the assets into a receivership within seven days. But U.S. District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman of New York ordered the “immediate turnover” of Giuliani’s apartment on the Upper East Side, which is already for sale. Liman also orders Giuliani to take legal steps that would allow the election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, to seek an estimated $2 million in legal fees that Giuliani has said he is owed by Donald Trump’s campaign organization and the Republican National Committee for his work leading Trump’s post-2020 election legal challenges. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/22/rudy-giuliani-condo-georgia-defamation/

The self-proclaimed pro-life party? Infant mortality got worse after Roe reversal. Experts are investigating. Hundreds more babies died than expected in the year and a half after the Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion in June 2022, raising questions about the ripple effects of the ruling on maternal and child health. In findings published this week in JAMA Pediatrics, researchers said the shift was detectable several months after the decision. In some months, infant mortality jumped by as much as 7 percent, or 247 excess deaths, from the baseline before the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, which overturned Roe v. Wade. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2024/10/23/infant-mortality-rate-dobbs-decision-abortion-bans/

Just another cultist inspired by Demented Donnie's violent political rhetoric. TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — An Arizona prosecutor said the man arrested in the shooting of a Democratic National Committee office in suburban Phoenix had more than 120 guns and over 250,000 rounds of ammunition in his home, leading law enforcement to believe he may have been planning a mass casualty event. Maricopa County prosecutor Neha Bhatia said at Jeffrey Michael Kelly’s initial court appearance on Wednesday that federal agents told her about the large seizure made after Kelly’s arrest. Scopes, body armor and silencers were also found, she said. A machine gun was discovered in the car he was driving. Kelly is also accused of hanging several political signs lined with razor blades on Tuesday in Ahwatukee, an affluent suburb of Phoenix where most voters have chosen Democrats in recent elections. Authorities said he also hung plastic bags holding a white powder labeled “biohazard” from those signs. Authorities said the hand-painted signs were attached to palm trees and appeared to criticize Democrats and their presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris. www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/dnc-office-shooting-suspect-had-more-than-120-guns-in-his-arizona-home-officials-find

Right on brand. It's the only thing the former Republican party is exceedingly adept at doing.

The dumber you are, the more likely you are to be "Republican." "I love the poorly educated." - Demented Donnie America’s political realignment is catching Democrats flat-footed The great divide in America today is not economic but social, and its primary marker is college education. The other strong predictors of a person’s voting behavior are gender, geography and religion. So the new party bases in America are an educated, urban, secular and female left and a less-educated, rural, religious and male right. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/10/25/politics-realignment-democrats-race-class/

As of 2022. DAF comes to mind. The College-Educated Party? The Democratic Party has undergone a remarkable transformation over the last two decades. Nearly half (48 percent) of Democrats today have a four-year college degree, a dramatic increase since the last 1990s when only about one in four had a college education. Much of this change is the result of the growing number of college-educated women who identify as Democrat. In the late nineties, only 13 percent of Democrats were college-educated women, but they make up 28 percent of the party today. In contrast, the educational profile of Republicans has changed little over the last two decades. In the late 1990s, three in ten Republicans had a college education, while roughly as many (31 percent) have a college education today. www.americansurveycenter.org/featured_data/a-college-educated-party/

If "Republicans" didn't feel as though they deserved to be called racists for voting for Trump, any gripe they may have thought they had has officially been flushed.

Clearly, Trump didn't mean what he said, verbatim. It was a, "joke." To believe otherwise is just TDS. Also, you can ALWAYS depend on "Republicans" to disappear when what they're actually supporting is center stage. Remember how much time Elvado used to have to try to own the libs?

It’s pretty clear from that repugnant hate fest: Trump and his supporters have no actual interest in helping people. This is a group that simply loves the idea of their shared enemies being punished. That’s it. Full stop. And they have gall to cast their opponents as the bad guys, you know, the people who want livable wages, don’t want people to get crushed by medical debt, want to help the less fortunate get on their feet, want to protect marginalized communities from hate and violence, etc. According to the people at that rally of degenerates, those are the really evil folks.
