Learning to be a MAGA GOP cultist. A South Florida woman who reportedly interned for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was indicted this month for her alleged involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection. A federal grand jury indicted Barbara Balmaseda, 23, on charges related to storming and entering the Capitol on Jan. 6 alongside at least one Proud Boys member, according to a court filing posted to the docket May 22. thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4690002-former-rubio-intern-indicted-jan-6-charges/

This is another reason why the upcoming election is hugely important.

Will the “law and order” party really send up a 34 time convicted felon as their nominee? Good job guys. You really knocked it out of the park licking the boot of the ultimate conman, and, now, convicted felon.

Apparently, Florida applies the New York law on voting rights which is simple - if you are not physically imprisoned, you are eligible to vote. Accordingly, the Grifter will be allowed to vote in Florida. GOP is simply corrupt to the gills.

Ha ha ha. The MAGA GOP convention is July 15-18. The Grifter's sentencing is set for July 11th. He'll be a convicted AND sentenced felon.
The party of stupid is going to nominate a convicted felon. Hope you MAGA GOPers are happy! Congrats!

Yes, they do. But, don't call them out on it. They get very diaper-rashy about telling the truth about their own hypocrisy.

With apologies to Mark Twain:
There is no distinctly American criminal class - except for "Republicans."

What a group of whiny, lying invertebrates. Vote every last one of them out at the earliest opportunity. The former "eff your feelings" crowd sure are all in their feelings. And, to be so brazen as to publicly refuse to do the job to which these cultists were elected with no repercussions is something that cannot stand from either side of the aisle. How would your bosses react if you openly refused to do your job?

Texas! Yee Haw! Looking for something really hair-raising to read? Check out the 50-page platform that was just adopted by the Texas Republican Party. The document, approved at the party’s biennial convention in late May, is not a serious policy road map. But it does reveal the id of a political party that has gone off the deep end. Just a few of the platform’s planks: that the Bible should be taught in public schools, with chaplains on hand “to counsel and give guidance from a traditional biblical perspective based on Judeo-Christian principles.” That noncitizens who are legal residents of this country should be deported if they are arrested for participating in a protest that turns violent. That name changes to military bases should be reversed to “publicly honor the southern heroes.” That doctors who perform abortions should be charged with homicide. That the United States should withdraw from the United Nations and that the international organization should be removed from U.S. soil. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/06/03/texas-republican-party-new-platform/
