What boya isn't saying while he is CLEARLY throwing a shot at one of our recruits
Can't wait for this kid. Having well rounded players who can play defense is going to make a huge difference.

Next chance to see Caleb (and his running mate/possible teammate at GU, too, Acaden Lewis) is Wednesday, Feb. 28 6PM at Sidwell against a TBA foe in the DC "State" tournament. If they win there, next chance would appear to be Friday in a semi-final doubleheadar AT MCDONOUGH (Gonzaga, St. John's and Jackson-Reed also probable participants), with the Final Sunday at Smith Center/GW. Sidwell has won the tourney last two years, beating J-R close in '22 (putback buzzer beater by Caleb) and going away last year.

Thought we had a major upset happening after the 1st quarter tied 15-15 after St albans raced out to a 8-0 lead. 2nd quarter was all Sidwell 18-0. St albans didn't score for 8 minutes. Mostly lead by great defense by Caleb. Had at least 4 steals. 33-15 at half. Caleb I'd say has like 13pts. He also scored his 1,000 point in the 2nd quarter.
Game is being live streamed on Youtube.

Looks like Sidwell (Caleb and PG Hoya target junior Acaden Lewis) vs Gonzaga (and fellow PG/I think Hoya target Nick Lewis) at McDonough Friday at 9pm in semis of DC “state” tourney. MaxPreps has Jackson-Reed vs St.John CPrep at 5 (sure there is a marquee girls game at 7). With the Hoyas at home Saturday, I’m sure we will have someone there (someone who matters, I mean —not just me). Am guessing Ed his ownself will make an appearance, with another staff member or two..

Hoya coaches were talking to players, coaches, and parents after the games. Good to see. Caleb struggled shooting outside, but could get to the basket in the second half (he had the Gonzaga big on him much of the game). Lewis was really good with great handles, ability to shoot really well outside, find others (wasn't creating so much for others, which is something Caleb was doing), and ability to get to the basket and score against anybody. Lewis was seriously impressive. Lewis was decent defensively against the really good Gonzaga PG and switching off on other guards. Caleb on defense was largely defending a the Gonzaga big (listed at 6'10" but was only an inch or maybe two taller than Caleb at 6'7") who tried to play as a big with muscle, but not a lot of understanding of inside game. Caleb bodied up against him decently. He really needs to work on his outside shot, which was close on most takes, but it was a really flat shot and drifted left and right and not always straight on. He will be a good addition and he was listening to his coaches, which is a really good sign.

Very happy to hear Caleb was an offensive creator and successfully defender against a bigger post player.

Ed was at the game entire second half/making presence known both during and after game (went to Sidwell bench to congratulate/hug several coaches)

Sidwell completes DC Three-peat 47-37 over St. John's tonight; Caleb with 12 via a combo of medium range jumpers, putbacks and drives to the hole. Cooley, Ivan Thomas and two other Hoyas (I think) were there entire game/pictured..
