To be clear I don't want this to turn into a take a sh!t on Ewing thread...
However curious...has he made any public comments since leaving the program? Any interviews? Any news of what he does next?
I don't believe he has much of any of a social media presence, etc
I know it has only been a couple of months but wondering if he has said anything at all since...

I have not seen any comments at all. For what it's worth, Ewing is either still under his extension (which reportedly pays him out 3 more years) or a settlement/amendment to that extension (if the parties decided to do that, I have no idea if they did). So, I imagine that might limit his ability to talk but I think this is one of those instances where it is in everybody's benefit for Ewing to say as little as possible. Ewing's best bet is to keep a low profile.
I imagine someday in the future we will get more first-hand accounts of the Ewing years, but those sort of things only tend to happen after the passage of time. For example, even with respect to JT3, little has been written about the latter years, and even insider accounts like Julian Vaughn's interview where he discussed the lead up to the Ohio game only came after almost a decade had passed, and after JT3 had been fired. Unless someone decides to be overly chatty on social media, my guess is that true insider-type accounts of the Ewing years will likely not come out for a while. And hopefully by then Cooley will be winning, and nobody will care.

Given the legacy of Hoya Paranoia (once upon a time it could be seen as a positive attribute) I have a sneaking suspicion that Ewing signed an NDA.

I am a consultant, so I am allowed to make this joke: Those who can, do. Those who can't, consult.

Good luck to Patrick in his new role. I will never understand the enmity toward our own.

Patrick was well-regarded in Charlotte.
This is not a surprise.

I assume the school is still on the hook for the remaining amount of his contract (?).

I assume the school is still on the hook for the remaining amount of his contract (?). As a matter of law, typically if you get fired from a job without cause, you get to keep the full contract amount. Typically, contracts will have a mitigation provision. So for example, if Ewing is owed $4 million, but Charlotte pays him $500,000, Georgetown would only need to give him $3.5 million. That said,I am very confident Georgetown likely came to terms with Ewing on departure, and so whatever the parties agreed there is mostly likely controlling. I would be surprised if Ewing took anything less than his salary though--and he's clearly going to make much less with Charlotte in a job like that. Steve Clifford is making $4 million--about the same Ewing would make if he had stayed at Georgetown (and which is likly being paid out to him). Eventually, we will see what Ewing is paid out, as it will appear on Georgetown's Form 990, as one of he top 5 paid employees.

Patrick can't really hold any ill will towards the school. He was given a long long leash. He got more time than any peer would. By the same token, we should be respectful to the player who made Georgetown basketball what it is. Patrick should always be beloved on campus and I hope he will be visible once some time has passed.

Ewing's contract was specifically structured as a consultant - not as an assistant coach. This enables him to extract the full salary amount from Georgetown without having his Hornet salary deducted from the residual Georgetown salary owed to him.
