I am looking forward to the 2023-24 season, I think Pitino will have St. John's improved and in the upper tier of the standings along with the likes of UConn and Creighton. I don't see it getting much better for Villanova and honestly I think Nova will drop to about 8th in the conference and while Nova drops, I can see Georgetown rising to either 8 or 9th. The games I want to see aside from the yearly Nova vs Georgetown games is Providence vs Georgetown games. When Georgetown goes to Providence, that will be must see for the reaction Cooley gets alone. I think the bottom part of the league will be Butler and DePaul, I just don't see much improvement from them. At the very least, Georgetown should finish 9th but I would not be surprised if it is even higher in the 6-7 range. It will be fun that's for sure. I think Neptune is staying put though at Nova, I saw how long they kept Lappas and when they look at Neptune, they see the culture Jay Wright built, the problem is, Nova will not see that type of success again any time soon and that's just reality.

How is he going to get a waiver? I think you are the only person who hasn’t figured it out.

I think we’ll still end up with Bryce Hopkins when all is said and done. We still have over a month before the Portal closes. I know the portal won't close for about a month, but why are you so sure we will get Hopkins? Had Hopkins said nothing, I would have been open to that possibility, but Hopkins specifically said he is returning under English. Do you have inside information indicating otherwise? Or are you just speculating? Unless you have insider information, I am going to take Hopkins at his word for now. Hopkins would have to sit likely if he transfers. I think that's a main reason why. Up to now, the NCAA has been handing out waivers for second transfers (so players don't need to sit), but the NCAA specifically stated it was NOT going to do this and that coaching changes were not sufficient to get a waiver. Why would Hopkins transfer to sit on the bench for a year? I just don't see it, particularly since Hopkins himself said he was staying in Providence.

Didn’t deter Chris beard and Brandon Murray. Or bill self going after Primo Spears. I’m going to go with Tom Izzy’s belief that everyone will get Mental waivers over any opinion on here. www.si.com/.amp/college/2023/03/31/tom-izzo-rips-ncaa-immediate-eligibility-waiver-transfer-portal

We will see how this all shakes out. Luckily, for now, at least, we aren't relying on anybody on our roster to get a waiver, so luckily it is not a problem for our guys.

I’m not sure anyone would argue otherwise. Certainly not any arbiter. People will use the mental waiver because of coaching change and that will be approved by anyone with any common sense and if not it will be challenged.

I would agree with the waiver for a coaching change BUT not if the kid follows the coach to the next school. So Brandon should be fine but a transfer like Ace Baldwin (if it was his 2nd and its not) to follow his coach to his next school should force a one year wait. That is just my opinion on how this should be executed so coaches aren't just taking entire teams to their next spot (like English is kind of doing but those kids haven't transferred before for the most part I think).

I think it should still be fine to follow your coach. Coach leaves to upgrade themselves so the kids shouldn’t be penalized by having to stay away from the coach they like.
