"The only player in attendance who is headed to a program that has made the Final Four is Connecticut signee Stephon Castle of Covington (Ga.) Newton. Ranked No. 9 overall, he’s more than backed up his status and has been among the most impressive guards in attendance. What really sticks out is his size. Castle seems like he’s continued to grow over the last year and is now looking to be every bit of the 6-foot-6 he’s listed at if not a little bigger. He’s not just tall, he’s put together as well. He’s one of a handful of guys in attendance who looks like he could handle the physicality of the college game today and he loves to use his strength to his advantage. The biggest question with Castle is his jump shot and he’s not been a flame thrower during shooting drills, but he’s been pretty strong in every other aspect of the game and has done well for himself so far." 247sports.com/LongFormArticle/College-Basketball-recruiting-McDonalds-All-American-Game-Bronny-James-DJ-Wagner-Jared-McCain-and-more-207378968/#207378968_5

I thought Neptune was making over 4 million per year? hoyaboya? Several websites online repeat the $4.4 million, but most of them sound like they were written by AI. So, it's unclear to me whether the $4.4 million is real. It does seem awfully high for a guy with such limited coaching experience.

"Big East Basketball: Ranking all 11 head coaches after Pitino/English hires 7. Ed Cooley – Georgetown The big talk has been Cooley’s departure from Providence in taking the Georgetown job. A native of Providence, Cooley was a longtime assistant under Al Skinner, mostly at Boston College, before beginning his head coaching career at Fairfield nearly two decades ago. After five seasons with the Stags, he took the Providence job in 2011 and did incredible work across the next twelve years with a program in pretty dormant shape. Cooley got right to work with the Friars, leading the program to five straight NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in their history. He took Providence to a regular season title and a Sweet Sixteen berth in 2022 and made that seventh appearance in the Big Dance in this last season with the program. Immensely familiar with this league, he takes over at Georgetown with heavy lifting ahead. Cooley’s 3-7 record in the NCAA Tournament remains somewhat disappointing, a big reason why he’s not higher on this list. After sufficient work with the Friars, he inherits a Georgetown program that has been really bad the last few seasons. Cooley has his work cut out for him to get the Hoyas back into winning shape, but he’s already done that kind of rebuild at Providence. Will his magic work with a second Big East program in these coming years?" bustingbrackets.com/2023/03/27/big-east-basketball-ranking-all-11-head-coaches-after-pitino-english-hires/6/

Rick weeds out the existing roster... Storr is shocking, pretty sure I read where he asked him to stay. Pitino is Pitino but he's gutting a team that wayy underperformed and fit his style

Not surprised. Pitino is getting rid of the losing culture and negativity. You want to jettison as much of the old leadership and cliques as possible and bring in your guys or new guys to change to a winning mentality. This is exactly what Cooley needs to do as well and I think he is doing that.

This is a terrible tweet by Fanta, I get that he wants to cheer for Pitino but he shouldn't be calling kids losers while doing it. As for Pitino, I don't get it tbh

As for Pitino, I don't get it tbh Who knows what goes on behind the scene, but any notion that Posh and Addae-Wusu are not competitors flies in the face of everything we’ve seen over the last few years. I remember posting back in 2020 about how fun it would be to watch that class of guards - Dante, Posh, Colby, etc - grow and compete against each other. Only Jones remains. #Sad

Not sure if Cooley will reach out or not, but I always hated having the last few Hoyas point guards have to bring the ball up against Posh.
