I'd like to be a fly on the wall for the next AD meeting which could be at the FF4..
In fairness, Reed is more than likely taking too much of the heat here..

I get why they are hurt and upset, and I don't think it's a good look for coaches to move within the conference, so I get it. Selfishly, I am fine with it because frankly had Cooley turned us down, we would have ended up with someone not even close to Cooley's level. And I think that's why Providence is upset, too. They thought they had a coach in place long-term, a native Providence guy no less. So I get it, it hurts. I realize it's easy for me to say being on the Georgetown side, but frankly, this if they keep this up, they are going to start looking bad, while at the same time undermining English, or making him feel like he's the second choice (which he is but still). It's raw and recent, so I'll give them time, but at some point you need to move on. I think this is especially off putting when you're simultaneously introducing English.

Someone may want to check if the ghost of Larry King has taken over Pitino’s Twitter account.

Napolillo is showing some real immaturity here. Being an athletic director is like being a business executive: Paramount may not like Disney but they take a lot of care not to antagonize each other in public. The time for Napolillo to air his grievances is at the annual AD meetings in Florida, where they can speak frankly without amplification on social media. Napolillo may need a relationship with Lee Reed or Georgetown down the road for whatever reason, and you don't get a lot of passes in the athletics business before you find yourself on the outside looking in.

I feel for Providence and their fans.
I understand Napolillo and his feeling of betrayal seems genuine.
I imagine that the rest of the BE knows or senses what all went on with this hire.
Yes, business is business, and we got the coach we wanted. The BE is probably the better for it. However, the ends don't justify the means, and HOW we treat each other and do things matters.
Let's be happy & hopeful for what lies ahead. Let's remember that everything comes at a cost. Some are willing to pay it, shake it off, and move ahead. I will wish Provy the best, hope that Ed & Co. bring life and good hoops back to the Hilltop, & I will also have a nagging feeling that we didn't do it all as well as we should have.
Hoya Saxa.

Lee Reed’s quotes in Bobby Bancroft’s interview are a good answer to the Provvy hysteria.

Oh, and if this had happened to us, we'd be cryin', too. We'd be crazy angry and hatin' whoever did it. So we shouldn't be too cute as we rag on the Provy faithful. Shoe on the other foot? You know that would sting for a while. TBS, what's done is done. Go Hoyas!

As if Lee Reed was calling the search shots… it’s incredible how naive a fellow BE AD is regarding who is in charge of the basketball program at GU…

Kim English is supposed to be the greatest thing ever. Why are they still crying.

Kim English is supposed to be the greatest thing ever. Why are they still crying. Because, if that's true, he'll end up as Cooley's eventual successor at GU?
