Last night I had the distinct pleasure of watching on Great Performances on our local PBS affiliate a stage performance of a one man show featuring David Strathairn as Karski. I'm sure everyone now knows (although I don't think anyone knew back when I was a student at GU) that Karski is a hero of the Polish Underground who brought first hand information on the Holocaust to England and the US. After the performance there is a discussion of the show and also a few interviews with people who knew Karski, including Father O'Donovan, who nearly breaks down in tears at the end. Highly recommended, if you come across it.
I'm putting this here rather than on the Blue & Gray board in the hope that it will get more attention.
Also, there apparently is now a statue of Karski on campus? Where is that located?

Had the pleasure of taking Karski’s classes three times at GU.
He was positively fascinating and captivating and taking his class was like going back in history. I look forward to the Film.

The same statue is in NYC, coincidentally on East 37th Street.
I used to visit it for good luck on my way over to the Garden for BET games.

Around E. 37th & Park or Madison, which was renamed Jan Karski Place. I stayed at the Union League Club in the past when attending the Big East Tournament at MSG and it was around the corner IIRC.

Also, there apparently is now a statue of Karski on campus? Where is that located? Yeah I saw it last year on campus when I think he was still workshopping it. Pelosi was there. It was co-written by the head of the Georgetown Performing Arts program, Dan Goldman. Pelosi was at the last performance on campus of about a two week run. It was not being workshopped (was first written/performed in like 2014) but was headed to Off-Broadway for about a five week run starting in Sept 2022. The film was shot in 2020, so was basically set by the time it hit the Hilltop. It is fantastic, and Straithorn brilliant (from what I understand, started initially as a more full casted ensemble piece and it was decided works better as a one man show, with Straithorn voicing the other characters when needed. Whoever decided this was not wrong). Completely agree with the above sentiments — perhaps the most moving play I’ve ever seen… I just feel bad that I didn’t know this hero was in our midst when I was in school …
