Another fatigue loss.... Ewing will never get it. I guess he didn't get tired. At least he's not the worst coach in HM college hoops... Just kidding with you.. haha

We close out 2022 without a Big East win. The fundamentals get us every time. Tonight, it was turnovers coupled with poor defense. Mistakes on offense led to DePaul points, over and over. It doesn’t matter how many points Murray scores or how many rebounds Wahab grabs if we can’t play with some basic discipline. DePaul played with some passion down the stretch tonight — it was clear that Stubblefield felt like he was coaching for his job. He got the win. We didn’t.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but is Spears' matchup generally the opposing player that torches us? Probably hard to tell with how porous our D is overall, but I can't recall watching a game and feeling he played well on D.

Maybe if Anglin or Heath had subbed for Primo once in the 2nd half we win this game. Why is Heath not playing?
And is Akok hurt?

I wonder if this is what JD wants like he lays the foundation of the absurdity that NIL is a crisis and it is hard for them to compete to eventually push basketball out. I mean he obviously doesn’t care about the amount of bridges he is burning by basically saying f you to the alumni who have supported the program for years

Out-rebounding them 42-26 Qudus has been strong on the boards for sure. 3-7 from the field for point blank shots isn't good though Kudos to Qudus - he battled.

His on ball defense is fair I’d say, but he gets lost routinely when his man moves off the ball.

There is something more nefarious going on here with not playing Riley. This can't just be coach ineptness. He has forced Bristol and Mozone to play the entire half with Heath out and watching them wilt and refuses to play Jordan. I'm not a conspiracy guy but there is more here than basketball if you ask me...this is insane... I don't understand not playing Heath??

Why have Ewing fire his assistants and hire new ones? JD legitimately thought Ewing could do this and now he doesn’t want to be forced to fire his friend and a Hoya legend. What he doesn’t realize is at this point he’s getting more heat for not growing a pair and doing what is necessary, than he ever would if he announced tomorrow that PE was fired.

Another fatigue loss.... Ewing will never get it. I guess he didn't get tired. Not a fatigue loss. Just horrendous coaching yet again. Was it fatigue when we had 9 turnovers to their 0 half way into the first half? Was it fatigue when we let their top shooter get open for uncontested 3s over and over -- especially considering they have minimal weapons offensively? Guys that shouldn't be are being given the green light again and again with no consequences. The offense is 1) throw it in to Wahab or 2) Let Murray / Spears take any shot they want. That's the offense. And that's a recipe for disaster given Primo's preference to take 19 footers, and Murray's propensity to turn the ball over repeatedly and/or miss foul shots repeatedly.

Jack D's London comments gives him a basis to say that we must de-emphasize basketball in the new NIL environment. Ewing's contract extension is like deferred NIL for the 4 years he played for Georgetown and put us on the map. A golden parachute.

Will depend on what's up with Akok and Heath If both are out we won’t win a game, but it will also be used as another excuse You cannot use Akok getting hurt as an excuse. He’s the most injury-prone player in Big East history. You knew that when you brought him in.

Yes he battled under the boards but once he gets the ball in his concrete-like hands it is anyone's guess where the ball is going since it for sure isn't going in the basket. I'm sorry but Wahab has actually regressed from 2 years ago. Amazing that he could be coached by one of the best centers of all time and still not know how to not put the ball on the floor, not get called for 3 seconds, and how not to knock people over on his way to the hoop.

What a slap in the face. Glued to the bench, in the game with 9 seconds left.
