Chris "Kamikaze" Christie preparing to don his political suicide vest and hurl himself at Mango. Pass the popcorn! Chris Christie plans to launch 2024 presidential campaign Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie will enter the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination next week, according to a person with knowledge of his plans who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the decision has not yet been announced publicly. Christie’s planned campaign, first reported by Axios, would be his second for the presidency after he unsuccessfully sought the GOP nomination in 2016. That year, Christie dropped out of the race after finishing sixth in the New Hampshire primary. He swiftly endorsed Donald Trump, despite trading bitter attacks through the primary, and later was named the head of Trump’s transition team. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/05/31/chris-christie-trump-republican-presidential-nomination/

Chris "Kamikaze" Christie preparing to don his political suicide vest and hurl himself at Mango. Pass the popcorn! If not him, who? He would not be my first choice but his message is succinct: a third consecutive nomination is a recipe for failure. That said, there is a cadre of contenders who are positioning themselves if Trump's legal issues become prohibitive and the Murdochs throw their weight behind another candidate. The over/under as to when 270 lb. Trump calls 290 lb. Christie a "fatso"?

I will enjoy watching the wretched MAGA GOP cannabilize itself and leave nothing but a rotting corpse for the racists, fascists and xenophobes who have been rejuvenated by the "Republican" party/cult under Mango. The sycophants and apologists for MAGA GOPers are no better.

I’m sure most of you have read this or read excerpts of it by now, but it is no wonder that Licht fumbled the Trump “town hall” so magnificently. He seems like an absolute, self-obsessed clown. How did he ever have a successful career prior to CNN? He’s already ceded control to a new COO, and his boss seems to be losing confidence in him. I can’t imagine he’s long for his position, nor should he be. He’s been a disaster. www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2023/06/cnn-ratings-chris-licht-trump/674255/

I said the day after the town hall debacle that he should be fired for gross incompetence. I wonder if that piece in the Atlantic didn’t come out now if he would have lasted much longer. I’m not sure it matters all that much. He has done irreparable damage to the CNN brand; I don’t see the viewers they lost after that coming back any time soon.

Donald Trump says that Donald Trump is now totally disqualified from running for president.
But, in reality, Trump on the ticket may be the single best way to motivate democratic voters, especially those not particularly fond of Biden. Trump on the ballot could spell total disaster for down ballot Republicans. I’m so torn!

You can't cure stupid. (Love how this old fart's name was auto-deleted!) GREENVILLE, S.C. — Standing outside an auditorium where Ron DeSantis drew more than 1,500 people this month, Dolores McM Edited explained why she’s supporting him for president — bringing up a TikTok video making the rounds on conservative media that shows a “fairy godmother’s apprentice” wearing a purple gown, blue eye shadow and a mustache and welcoming a young girl to Disneyland. A Fox News host dubbed the employee “Cinderfella.” “It’s horrible,” said McM Edited, 76, who fretted about the shifting ideas of gender awaiting her great-grandchildren. “It’s not the world that I grew up in.” She liked that DeSantis took aim at Disney after it opposed the limits he enacted on discussions of gender and sexual orientation in schools and argued he’s better suited than Donald Trump — whom she calls “too crass” — to carry a conservative agenda forward. “We need somebody that is a little more tame but yet is willing to go and do what’s right for the country,” McM Edited said, whether or not “other people think it’s wrong.” As he seeks the Republican nomination, DeSantis has the support of more than 1 in 5 GOP voters, polls show. Many are longtime Trump supporters who have cheered the polarizing fights the Florida governor has waged over pandemic restrictions, schools and gender and now view him as a more effective champion for the battles to come, according to several dozen interviews at DeSantis events and other venues around the country. As a result, DeSantis is running ahead of every other non-Trump candidate in the GOP field. www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2023/06/25/ron-desantis-voters-election-2024/

Moronic MAGA GOP base can't comprehend what a con job DeSantis is pulling on them by appealing to their fear and emotions with his "culture war." All performative politics. "I love the poorly educated!" - Mango In his early outreach to Republican voters as a presidential candidate, DeSantis has portrayed himself as a fighter and, crucially, a winner in the cultural battles increasingly important to conservatives. If elected to the White House, he’ll take those fights to Washington, he has said. “I will go on offense,” DeSantis said in Iowa last month. “I will lean into all the issues that matter.” But back in Florida, the agenda at the centerpiece of his pitch remains unsettled. Still ongoing are more than a dozen legal battles testing the constitutionality of many of the victories DeSantis has touted on the campaign trail. Critics say DeSantis has built his governorship around enacting laws that appeal to his conservative base but that, as a Harvard-trained lawyer, he knows are unconstitutional and not likely to take effect www.cnn.com/2023/06/25/politics/ron-desantis-agenda-president-court-fights/index.html
