According to the Marist poll 59% of White college-educated men support Harris, proving once again you are moron to support Demented Donnie.

I take exception with the characterization of them being “good, well-meaning” people. You don’t get led down the road of fascism because you are good and well-meaning. That’s absolute nonsense that’s letting people of the hook for their beliefs. Is misogyny good and well-meaning? Racism? How about the demonization of marginalized communities? Undermining democracy? Let’s stop pretending these people don’t have agency in their own awfulness. They aren’t being “carried” down the path, they are charging down it willfully because this is who they are.

Demented Donnie didn't persuade these deplorable MAGA cultists to become who they actually are, he merely revealed them. Hannah Arendt's observation of the banality of evil comes to mind. The banality of evil is the idea that ordinary people can commit evil acts without awareness, care, or choice by following orders and accepting their actions as normal.

Donald Trump, who has tried to position himself as women’s “protector” for weeks, certainly needs more of them: A new Marist poll this morning had Harris leading Trump by 15 points with likely women voters, while Trump only leads by 6 points among likely male voters. But in a Fox News town hall in Georgia with an all-female audience — taped on Tuesday but airing Wednesday, driving the day’s headlines — Trump inexplicably declared himself “the father of IVF.” At the same time, he said that Sen. Katie Britt of Alabama — “just a fantastically attractive person,” he said — explained to him the process as he acknowledged he “didn’t even know” there were embryos involved. On top of that, it appeared Trump was preaching to the choir: CNN reported that his town hall was packed with his own supporters. Harris, meanwhile, spent the day working to expand her own coalition. Not only did she rally in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with Republican surrogates like former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, she also engaged in an aggressive sit down with Fox News, disarming a talking point that she doesn’t participate in such high-stakes media hits. (Brit Hume, the longtime conservative pundit, conceded that her appearance was “combative and energetic.”) www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/10/16/2024-elections-live-coverage-updates-analysis/who-won-the-day-00184095
