I’ve not nearly as much hatred as Mr Trump has. It’s on full display every time he opens his mouth. It’s abhorent.. Dan, come on. The entire Harris campaign was based on fear and hate. Trump was some hate but mostly on policy. She had NOTHING policy wise and she picked a doofus as a running mate instead of Shaprio all because she was threatened when he wanted to know what his role would be. All of you on this board spread HATE for Trump more than you support her. There are zero posts on here supporting her policies. It's all anti Trump lies and garbage. Respectfully disagree. She quoted him often. She never called him “trash” “garbage” “dumb” “low IQ” or insinuated he was a whore as both he and Mr. Vance did repeatedly over the last few weeks. She put out plenty of policy initiatives. You must have missed some of the Trump campaign hit ads over the last 48 hours. As for posts here, sure they’re all over the map but a large number react to lies the republican candidates put out repeatedly. That’s all I’ll say. |

I may be a "sucker and a loser" but I will not be attacking the Capitol on January 6th, 2025 because I am a lawyer and believe in the rule of law.

I was confused in 2000. I was dumbfounded in 2016. Today, I am disappointed but not surprised.
This is the America we now live in whether we agree with it or not. It is hard not to view this election result other than a mandate for an America first agenda.
From my early review of the exit polls, the difference seemed to be with new voters and Latinos. The gender gap did not seem to be too impactful. These new, low propensity voters were likely swayed by blunt and constant messaging on inflation. Latino voters were likely drawn to the image of Trump as a strongman.
Looking forward, we will now see if the Trump agenda can be effective. As the GOP will likely control all 3 branches of government for the next 2 years, everything that happens going forward will be theirs to own. As for the Democrats, there will be much soul searching on how to effectively act as a vibrant and relevant opposition party. They will have to find a message that will resonate with rural and working class voters for future election cycles if they are to expand their reach.

Given his children's affiliation with the university, I wonder if Trump will ever come to the hilltop for a speech or a ceremony? What an occasion that would be!
