Serious kudos to the ladies today. I had watched Stanfurd beat Duke and seriously did not have much hope going into this match and was hoping we didn't embarrass.
We not only did not embarrass ourselves, we really deserved a win excepting that direct kick on spot. But our team came out aggressive, were not intimidated, played excellent soccer, and stood very, very tall against what was expected to be a superior opponent.
This was a statement game. We need to be heard, and should be in the post season. There was no hanging on by fingernails. They would steal the ball and settle into a passing and possession game with little intimidation. They went up against Stanford's best and came away great.
Excellent play creating a big confidence builder heading into Big East play. Go Hoyas. A job well done.

A statement result against a quality team. Nice to see and should provide quite the springboard going forward.

After review of the game again on FloFC I think I can go a step further in my applause of yesterday's efforts. Having been to both Final Four performances in 2016 (San Jose) and 2018 (Cary, NC), I believe this is as fine a game I have seen them play since those two very close losses. For the first half especially one had the feeling that the two teams had switched uniforms, and with 'furd being so dominant that is about as high a compliment as one could give. Another good test at Princeton and then surge into Big East play. Go Hoyas

Even though Princeton is a solid side, this could be considered a trap game---on the road, following a great win/tie/performance, and looking forward to wading into BigEast play.
Start strong and aggressive.

Grinding Duke and Baylor into dust in the Tournament was probably the two most dominant matches against high-level competition, but thie result feels like it's clearly the best regular season showing and may well be the best overall...assuming Stanford is as good as advertised, which I think they are.

Well, they scored 4 goals so there’s that.
