The NARA official in charge of the classified govt docs is a former colleague of mine at DOJ, NSD (Rhodes Scholar and former Agency case officer) I'm 95% certain he is responsible for referring the missing docs matter back to DOJ for investigation. Also Jay Bratt was identified in the WaPo article as the DOJ official who was negotiating with the orange psycho's lawyers. He is the Chief, Counterintelligence and Export Control litigation at NSD. (In my own fevered imagination, the public search is merely cover for executing a FISC-authorized search and electronic surveillance targeting Trump as an agent of a foreign power).😁

Generally, in civil litigation, an adverse inference may be drawn against a party asserting the Fifth Amendment. "You see the mob takes the Fifth," he said in April 2018. "If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment." NY Jury Instruction: From the assertion of the privilege you may infer, if you deem it proper to do so, that had the answers been given they would not have contradicted the opposing evidence on the issue of [identify issue] or would not have supported (the defendant’s, plaintiff’s) position on that issue and you may, although you are not required to, draw the strongest inference against the (plaintiff, defendant) on that question that the opposing evidence permits.

AG Garland to make a statement; subject unknown. Maybe to rebut that racist/fascist orange psycho POS disinformation as well as the disinformation from the MAGA GOP POSs. MAGA GOPers are nothing but stinking piles of human excrement. Want to release the warrant? The inventory? You can release both if you want to you orange POS. Attorney General Merrick Garland will deliver a statement at 2:30 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, the Justice Department said. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/08/11/democrats-gas-prices-trump-legal/#link-TCKIVMCQSVFQRME2KAKDR5JV3MAnd orange psycho incited this guy? Maybe but unknown at this time. An armed man wearing body armor tried to breach the FBI’s Cincinnati field office Thursday, authorities said, and a standoff continued into the early afternoon after he fled toward a highway. The attack comes days after the agency executed a search warrant at former president Donald Trump’s Florida estate. Since the search, violent threats against the FBI from Trump supporters online have increased, and Republicans have intensified criticism of the agency. Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) likened the government to “the Gestapo,” and the New York Young Republican Club called for the arrest of those involved in the search. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/08/11/fbi-building-breach-armed/

AG Garland says DOJ filing motion to unseal warrant and receipt since orange psycho already chose to publicize the search for his own corrupt grifting purposes. AG gives orange psycho oppty to oppose motion. i.e., calling the bluff. Put up or shutup. He personally approved search warrant. Rebutting MAGA GOP unfounded attacks on the FBI. GFY MAGA GOPers.

I expect a similar line of BS from Trump as he (also fallaciously) used with regard to releasing his taxes. "I can't because I'm under audit." Of course, audit or no audit, he was never precluded from releasing them but that was still good enough for his "supporters."

Of course, audit or no audit, he was never precluded from releasing them but that was still good enough for his "supporters." AG Garland has sort of boxed him in. Either he opposes unsealing or he doesn't. If he opposes, the inference is that all the disinformation he and his sychophants have spewed forth is false and he opposes unsealing because it will show that. And the judge can deny his opposition and still grant the motion to unseal. I think the motion to unseal will be resolved relatively quickly. A matter of weeks, not months. EDIT: Court has given the orange psycho until 3 pm tomorrow to oppose or consent to unsealing. It may be a matter of days, not weeks for the unsealing of the warrant and and receipt.

Now the $2B the Saudis gave Kushner makes sense.
Just to cite precedent…
