Mitchell has to adopt immunity argument that grifter could not be prosecuted under Section 2383, insurrection!

Jackson presses Mitchell on whether grifter "engaged" in insurrection.

Ginni must have orderded Clarence to save grifter. Clarence questioning the appellee's attorney Murray. He hasn't spoken this much in years!

SCOTUS will be punting and reversing Colorado decision. No snark here I promise. Isn’t beating him again at the ballot box the only way to end the Trump nonsense. Take him off the ballot and he is a political Martyr, no?

Take him off the ballot and he is a political Martyr, no? Any other considerations (Trump martyrdom, social unrest, etc.) should have absolutely no bearing on the decision. It should based solely on Constitutional questions, which legal scholars across the political spectrum believe prohibit Trump from holding office again. But the political agents, one of whom is married to an insurrectionist, will obviously act politically because that is what they do. The biggest farce is the conservative members of the court holding themselves as originalists.

Trumpism does not need Trump to live on. Not to mention that if he loses this year's election, no matter what the margin, he will just claim fraud again. Wash, rinse, repeat. And guess what, all the imbeciles who still insist that the last election was rigged will believe it again.

I saw about an hour of the hearing on MSNBC yesterday while I was having lunch, and this is exactly what I was thinking.

CNN — The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to revisit sanctions levied against two pro-Trump attorneys who filed frivolous lawsuits challenging the outcome of the 2020 election in Michigan. Sidney Powell and Lin Wood filed separate appeals asking the justices to review sanctions imposed by a US district court in 2021. Though their cases involved several technical arguments, both claimed sanctions would make it less likely for lawyers to take “unpopular” cases to court. www.cnn.com/2024/02/20/politics/sidney-powell-lin-wood-supreme-court/index.html

We knew this was coming — and still, it shocks. Justice Clarence Thomas has hired Crystal Clanton to be one of his law clerks, the most elite assignment a young law school graduate can secure. The shock is this: In 2015, when Clanton was 20 and working for a conservative group allied with the justice’s wife, Ginni Thomas, Clanton apparently sent racist texts to a fellow employee. “I HATE BLACK PEOPLE,” one text read. “Like f--- them all … I hate blacks. End of story.” (In Clanton’s text, the expletive was spelled out.) It is impossible to overstate the prestige that attaches to a Supreme Court clerkship. The job is a golden ticket awarded to just 36 each year — about 1 in 1,000 law graduates, the best of the best. Major law firms lure Supreme Court clerks with signing bonuses of a half-million dollars. Clanton, who graduated from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University in 2022, will be the third high court clerk from that institution since 2021. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/02/24/crystal-clanton-clarence-thomas-supreme-court-clerk-texts/

Clarence Thomas is an Oreo, and that's one of the nicer things I would say about him.
