Could you post the video of us playing defense against the pick and roll against them last year one more time before you go? We need that on here more than 5 times... Very insightful by the announcers. Georgetown’s problem is that they are in games until they give up a lot of points and lose. Not sure any of our players besides Aminu would start for another big east team.

Certainly it’s a style of play difference but on every Creighton possession it seems like all 5 guys touch the basketball and then end up with an easy shot where we running our shooter from one side of the floor to the other, hardly using the screens of allowing the defender to cut through the gaps and be there on the catch so neither Rice or Carey have gotten open looks. We make the game so much harder for ourselves.

Anyone still watching these games is a sadist or a diehard. Maybe both. I've gone to watching without volume so I don't have to listen to the announcers remind me of each miscue or drought that are hard enough to watch. I wish more than anything that these kids find 1 win somewhere so they don't carry that winless moniker as a unit. But each game is further cementing the necessary next steps.

Started so good, everyone picking up everyone, and wilson playing center well. Then all falls apart. I just don't understand where the problem is. No offense intended, but Rice is a gamble, Holloway is way too slow. Giving kobe a chance makes sense. The team is SO FAULTED, you are trying to create magic with little. I would love to see them pull this out, but it is a stretch.

So McDermott figures we will focus on preventing the PNR, he knows we can't guard the three, so hoila! It's not just that they make threes but they look so good making them. In rhythm, not pressured. Second half we will work on stopping the three so McDermott will go back to the PNR. Could lose by 40.

They don't run any kind of offense. It is Harris and Mohammed taking turns playing iso ball, with the occasional Rice rushed, contested, awful decision to gun up a 3. Carey is the only guy on the team with any clue as to how to actually play real offensive basketball, but it is tough for him to pry the ball out of the hands of Harris/Mohammed/Rice.
Defensively - well, there are no words. Hot three point shooting on some tough shots has made this half a defensive disaster rather than just a run of the mill bad Georgetown defensive half. But make no mistake, the defense has been bad. The truly tragic thing - we are playing the pick/roll better. But the transition defense is just as pathetic as ever, and the transition game is what blew the game open for Creighton.
the end of this season and the end of the Ewing coaching era cannot get here fast enough. Hopefully the two events coincide.
If Ewing is coaching this team again next season - I can't imagine that we'll be drawing more than 2,000 fans a game to Cap One, and probably often a lot less than that.
The next time we play Uconn (the BE team we match up worst with), with the way we are now playing -we may lose by 40. But hey, we may lose by 40 tonight so perhaps it won't be a new rock bottom if it happens against Uconn.
