Chris Licht should be fired after last night. He shouldn’t be fired for platforming an insurrectionist, lying, sociopathic rapist and for filling the audience with truly repugnant people who love his sociopathy. He should be fired because it was an absolutely terrible business decision. He is not going to get an increased viewership from right wing nuts after this. They only tuned in for this one event and still see CNN as the enemy. However, in all likelihood, they’ve absolutely alienated a huge percentage of a sparse and dwindling viewership by doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to counter his endless lies. It could have been an opportunity to hold his feet to the fire; instead it was just a platform for him to spew more lies and hatred to a bigger audience. There is no way this helps CNN in any discernible way except for the one night bump and has destroyed them with loyal and even casual viewers. How did Licht get this job? It doesn’t seem like he has any idea what he is doing. By the way, he went to Syracuse. So it should have been clear from go that he is ill equipped to handle anything. That’s why I didn’t watch. Interviewing a shameless liar without any consequences has no useful outcome. There is no guilt when you point out the counter evidence to their lies to these people because they don’t care. Trump doesn’t care about what is true. His supporters are limited people who willfully and also due inadequate capacity are unable to process alternative narratives. Try having a conversation with one at some point and you will see. There is no point in engaging them just as there is no point in engaging Trump. He has one motivation and that is the promotion of himself. There will NEVER be any evidence that you can show that will make him admit to lying unless it is done under oath and there is a legal consequence (which is why he always refuses to testify). CNN was foolish to think they could contain this clown show.

CNN was foolish to think they could contain this clown show. It’s not even a differing opinion on politics at this point, it’s differing values. I have no problem being friends/friendly with people who share differing political viewpoints like “is the tax rate too high” or “how involved should we get in foreign military affairs”. I have no interest, however, in being friends or being friendly with people who jeer sexual assault victims and think sexual assault is funny, or are okay with racism or homophobia, etc. If you back the current Republican MAGA wing (the majority makeup of the party), you are telling me that you do not value accountability, integrity, honesty, or kindness. That is more than politics. That is a “value” system that I find abhorrent, and I’m not going to apologize for not wanting to associate with them. Like Trump, the people in that crowd last night disgust me on a visceral level.

And the hits just keep on coming! Another defamation suit against Fox. An expert who once oversaw a Department of Homeland Security disinformation board filed a defamation suit Wednesday against Fox News, her lawyer said. Nina Jankowicz said in the suit, filed in Delaware state court, that she was subjected to violent threats because of Fox News’ portrayal of her and her role, which included insults made on the network. “Fox’s coverage of Jankowicz was neither news nor political commentary; it was cheap, easy entertainment untethered from the facts, designed to make consumers believe that Jankowicz could and would suppress their speech,” her attorneys wrote in the suit. “Fox chose to lie about Jankowicz deliberately.” www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/dhs-disinformation-sues-fox-news-defamation-nina-jankowicz-rcna83871

What Kaitlin should have done when Trump attacked her was to reply that you are a pathological liar, a bully, a perpetrator of sexual assaults, an insurrectionist and a traitor. When the Trump crowd would have booed her, she could have curtsied and walked off the stage.

CEO Poulos of Dominion doesn't think it will survive despite the settlement. A month ago, Dominion Voting Systems seemed like a dragon slayer. The conservative news behemoth Fox News had just agreed to pay Dominion $787.5 million to settle a defamation suit that was hours away from going to trial. It was the largest such settlement ever announced by a media company. And yet, to Dominion CEO John Poulos, even that payday likely won’t be enough to save his company. The reputational damage Dominion has endured is just too severe, he tells TIME in a strikingly pessimistic interview about the company’s future. time.com/6280840/dominion-fox-news-voting-machines-john-poulos/

Should really be called “Fear News”. Fear-mongering is their primary objective. It’s why you have old people shooting their neighbors through doors.

The general intelligence and cognitive abilities of the average Fox Propaganda Network viewer is below average.
But I do miss our HoyaTalk "Republicans" who used to parrot the Fox Prop talking points. If nothing else, their posts were a method of staying abreast of the latest MAGA GOP dusinformation without actually having to watch Fox Prop. 😀

After months of fanning the flames of anti-LGBTQ panic and attacks on “wokeness”, Fox News is finding out that Frankenstein’s monster has come back to kill Frankenstein. The Republican Party is just a bunch of brainless zombies from top to bottom. I’m embarrassed for this country. www.newsweek.com/fox-news-boycott-lgbtq-pride-bud-light-1807184?amp=1

Another chump change settlement for Fox Prop. Why any sentient human being believes anything on Fox Prop is a mystery to me. But one must concede that Fox Prop is the perfect propaganda tool for the amoral and corrupt "Republican" Party/cult. Fox News has settled a lawsuit from former producer Abby Grossberg, who accused the network of tolerating a hostile work environment during her time as the chief booker for Tucker Carlson’s show, for $12 million. “While I stand by my publicly filed claims and allegations, in light of today’s settlement … pursuant to which I have now withdrawn those claims, I am heartened that Fox News has taken me and my legal claims seriously,” Grossberg said in a statement on Friday afternoon. “I am hopeful, based on our discussions with Fox News today, that this resolution represents a positive step by the network regarding its treatment of women and minorities in the workplace.” By resolving Grossberg’s New York-based lawsuit — on the heels of settling a massive defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million in April — Fox avoids a legal battle that could have shed more light on its office culture. Grossberg’s account of a sexist environment echoed stories shared by several female employees in 2016 and 2017, when powerful network co-founder Roger Ailes and prime-time star Bill O’Reilly were forced out by allegations of sexual harassment. www.washingtonpost.com/media/2023/06/30/abby-grossberg-tucker-carlson-settlment/
