I hope Dominion's settlement with Fox Prop has full acknowledgement of the lies told by Fox and its lackeys including full public statements on the air by #ucker Carlson, et al. Dismissing the jurors, the judge thanked them for coming and fulfilling their civic duty, despite the surprise settlement between Fox News and Dominion. “Your mere presence is extremely important, and without you, we don’t function,” Davis told the jurors, who had been expecting a six-week trial. “If you’re thinking like that seems like a waste of time … it’s not.” www.washingtonpost.com/media/2023/04/18/dominion-fox-trial/Unless the settlement forces the Fox chyron to run “We are lying to you because we think you are stupid” repeatedly during every second of every show, this is a disappointing outcome for me. |

Agreed. Just saw Dominion's lawyers ptess conference and they simply said "money is accountability". I infer no public apology or real accountability and the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing morons who watch Fox will be still as dumb and clueless as before. |

Neil Cavuto now reading from the WSJ report of the settlement. He gets away with not toeing the party line. But by prime time, it'll never be discussed again. And no one that relies on FNC will even notice. |

Apparently Dominion owned by private equity. Was always going to be about squeezing out every last dollar. Would have tapered my expectations of fox having to lay bare the extent of their lies to their viewers had I known that ahead of time. No real accountability here and will allow fox viewers to remain plugged into the Fox matrix without having to learn deal emotionally with idea that their beloved network has been lying to them. As long as they keep their viewers plugged in and ignorant they can also keep their advertising dollars. Best possible outcome for Fox though not for Rupert’s children. Cuts into the 4 billion dollar sluch fund.

Asked why Fox won’t have to apologize as part of the settlement deal, a Dominion spokeswoman said, “An apology is about accountability, and today Dominion held Fox accountable. Fox paid a historic settlement and issued a statement acknowledging that the statements about Dominion were false.” Earlier in the lawsuit, Dominion had considered a public apology by Fox an important element in any potential settlement. -- WaPo, 4/18/23
