Just another sign of the game going too far in this direction. Overall the product is just not as good and the game has become a one skill sport. Hope those in charge do something to balance things out a bit more and pushing back the line would be a start. This isn't a sign if anything except taking what the defense gives you. Syracuse was too long for Nova inside so they bombed away on offense... Even moving the line back to NBA range won't stop teams from shooting a bunch of three's... We're in the Steph Curry era, in dont see it changing anytime soon... If the line goes back and teams start shooting 30 pct from 3, suddenly the metrics won’t support firing as many as now. Plus it opens up the paint a bit more for better movement. There’s no reason for the line to be closer. By 18 years old, there’s no lack of strength preventing any of these kids from reaching, but that extra distance certainly makes it that much harder, and therefore not as affective.

My takeaway is that Nova will be tough to beat. They can shoot that poorly from three and still win. They will rarely shoot that low a percentage again this season.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I love three-point shooting with lots of passing to find the open man. It's beautiful basketball IMO, and I much prefer it to watching our players repeatedly barrel into the interior. Our play looks like chaos compared to Nova's. Dunks and offensive aggression designed to draw fouls do nothing for me.

By 18 years old, there’s no lack of strength preventing any of these kids from reaching, but that extra distance certainly makes it that much harder, and therefore not as affective. This article states the % of shots taken from 3 dipped by 1.1% after the line moved back last year, going to the NBA line would more than likely give similar results. www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2020/02/18/new-3-point-line-leading-to-lower-shooting-percentages/111331388/With the success of the NBA's Warriors, then Villanova with its two national titles, 3-point dependency in college basketball rose from 32.9% percent in 2014 to an all-time high of 38.7% last year, according to KenPom. Overall, 3-point dependency only took a small dip with the new line, to 37.6% this season. Those teams who don't have a multitude of shooters, defenses have continued to pack it in, daring them to shoot. And, now with the deeper 3-point line, they're missing even more. “I haven't really seen much of a difference,” Katz said. “I believe there's only one thing that creates space: really good shooters. You can put lines wherever you want, but if there's four guys out there who can't shoot, we're not going out there beyond the line. I believe spacing is all about how guys shoot the ball, not lines on the floor.”

It may not be that impactful, but seems like no reason to not make it a universal distance for pros and college.

Very entertaining game up in Newark between Seton Hall and Texas. SHU is a real top 25 caliber team as is UCONN and obviously Nova. This has to be the strongest the Big East has been since 2013. Xavier is up there as well but to me is a level below those teams. Providence, Marquette, and Creighton have impressed relative to expectations and the conference has a ton of impressive wins. Could/should be a 7 bid league depending on how things shake out, and UCONN, Nova, and Seton Hall could all realistically be deep March contenders.

I really hate how espn.com is mixing up the mens and womens games in the same scoreboard with no rhyme or reason.
Looked like DePaul upset Kentucky till you click on the individual names in the box score. It wastes time.
