Carey was scared to shoot at the end and passed up a lot of shots versus SDSU. I’m a fan, but that’s a Bad look for a team captain…

How do they not get a shot off after not being fouled. Just poor basketball play to close the game out after a valiant second half effort.

I can't believe this is where we are in year 5...we are essentially in year 1... we are all saying let's see how we progress and maybe we can be good next year... that's year 1 kind of talk

I say play young players and get ready next season. We got senior making freshman mistakes. I’m just venting right now. Love my Hoyas.

Don Carey is like 23 years old and just played two games with the poise and leadership of a true freshman. He was absolutely putrid in both games. What in holy hell was he thinking in these late possessions tonight?

One and done - that’s why he chose the Hoyas. You’re in la la land if you believe anything else. If he goes, he won’t be a lottery pick with his current skill set. 0-10 against a team like St Joe’s. He can make the 3. He just in HS mode now where he thinks he needs a layup every shot. By mid season he'll learn that he has to take open Js.

I still believe that was the spark that lit the fuse on this thing.

Carey-with his experience-should not be making some of the decisions that he has made in the past two games

48 points in the second half should be good enough to win most games. Frustrating but honestly a win tonight would be lipstick on a pig. This is not a smart team nor particularly talented. There’s some potential but we are more than a year away from thinking we are BE contenders.
We simply don’t have elite talent nor the coaching to make up for it. This will be a bottom third BE team until either of those things change.

It is what it is until a coaching change is made. I’m thankful for the championship last year but the pattern of a Ewing coached team has not gone well overall. Early in the season and fans are already talking wait until next year.

Another masterclass from Ewing. Looking forward to the excuses after this one.

This is rough but I don't think John Wooden himself could make this team much better. The talent is limited and the cohesiveness isn't there with 2 years of turnover. Scared to see if more of that happens by mid season. Who knew Georgetown would be bringing down the Big East.

To Carey's defense and I say this with some sarcasm...but let's be honest...on a good team he is your 5th, 6th, 7th option...nowhere in America on a good team is he a #1 option late game...

He was never going to be a lottery pick. It will come down to if he wants to play another season for free.

I expected a rough year in the BE, but the fact we are 2-3 already on this weak schedule is below even the lowest of expectations (and frankly an acceptable floor for a program like ours).

The bad shots very early in the clock just after crossing half court in the first half really hurt. The 9 of 15 free throws isn't going to cut it at any level. Way too many bad turnovers (yeah, I don't know what a good turn over is either).
Hoyas only had two players rebounding Timothy with 14 and Aminu with 9, nobody else with more than 3. That isn't going to help.
