My thoughts exactly. You never know if the kid may want to do a grad year or something down the line and drop the double major from NW & Gtown.

Like his game but think the level of play he faced in AAU made some coaches unsure. He didn’t have a great NBA top 100 camp, and since that was the only time hm coaches saw him vs hm talent this summer I think that caused some to back off.

Kid work tho, he went from a low mid major player to a high major player in less than a year. Think he’s nothing but up from now on

I think Northwestern is not a bad spot for him. It is a really good academic school, plays in a big conference and he most likely has a chance to get some minutes as a freshman. He really improved his stock over the last year by playing well and he deserves all the accolades he has gotten.

Really like this kid's game and the improvement/desire he has shown the last couple of years. He will transfer before his 4 years at NW are finished - he's not good enough to overcome Collins' poor coaching by himself. I think he made a rational decision given the other schools he was considering, but I don't think he realizes how bad a coach Collins is. Have to think he would've ended up a Hoya if we didn't get Anglin, will be interesting to compare those 2 kids over the next 4 years.

Brumbaugh had the gym buzzing after his Saturday performance, not because of the 18 points he scored but for the caliber of the seven assists he dished out. Northfield (Mass.) Mount Herman was allowed to play fast, and that is when Brumbaugh shines. The Northwestern commitment, who has not signed yet, cut angles, passed his men open and showcased an IQ seen by few. It was an electric performance. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/shaw-s-takeaways-national-prep-showcase

Like would there be a specific reason to call that out?

He also said he remains fully committed to Northwestern. Nothing weird going on here. Smart move by him overall.

I haven't followed how he has been playing this season for his high school program, but if he is continuing to improve and impress coaches, he may be hearing from some blue blood programs now and might think he can move onto greener pastures. Or he might just be re-thinking playing away from home for four years and wants to play closer to DC!!!! I doubt he will be the last recruit who de-commits in the next few months.

It doesn’t hurt to keep tabs but we wouldn’t really have the space at pg for him

It doesn’t hurt to keep tabs but we wouldn’t really have the space at pg for him If I recall him correctly, he was taller/bigger than either of the point guards on the team now, so I would assume he could play the two guard spot some of the time and Tyler also can play the off guard spot. Having more guys who have point guard skills and instincts on the team is never a bad thing and alot of teams play multiple "point guards" at the same time. It becomes an issue if both point guards are on the smaller side because it can cause an issue defensively, but Brumbaugh sounds like he could guard some of the bigger guards and not hurt the team.

Didn't know that it was stated that "he wanted to go to Georgetown". Man any local kid that wants to go to Georgetown, please get him! I love Anglin and I'm soooo happy coach got him but get Brumbaugh too! He's a local kid for god's sake!!!

He was the guy I wanted most but the team literally has no room for him now unless half the team transfers again. He is so good at passing that you would be wasting him if he is not running the offense as a starter after a couple of months finding his sea legs. Not playing the two guard...RUNNING the team. But we have Dante and now Tyler ahead of him. Plus we have better guys at the two position ahead of him as well because he would not be a natural two.

Didn’t he commit to NW before Anglin committed here? Anglin committed to us on 7/28, Brumbaugh to Northwestern on 8/30. I don't expect we'll push but I'd be happy if we did. Anglin may be best served as a secondary handler whose main focus is on getting open from 3, rather than running an offense. Brumbaugh would be outstanding behind Dante. I can see us playing a lot of 3 guard lineups the next couple years, with one primary handler (Harris, Brumbaugh), one combo secondary handler (Beard, Anglin) and one bigger and more athletic attacker of the basket (Mohammed, Riley). In terms of having room, I think the last several years should have taught us that rosters are more volatile than ever, and people who we fully expect to be here as of this moment will not be. Plus if we end up with 6 guards (just listed), 4 forwards (Billingsley, Holloway, Clark, Bass) and 3 centers (Tim, Malcolm and Ryan), it's not the worst roster balance. But again, doubt we're a factor.
