Didn’t he commit to NW before Anglin committed here? Anglin committed to us on 7/28, Brumbaugh to Northwestern on 8/30. I don't expect we'll push but I'd be happy if we did. Anglin may be best served as a secondary handler whose main focus is on getting open from 3, rather than running an offense. Brumbaugh would be outstanding behind Dante. I can see us playing a lot of 3 guard lineups the next couple years, with one primary handler (Harris, Brumbaugh), one combo secondary handler (Beard, Anglin) and one bigger and more athletic attacker of the basket (Mohammed, Riley). In terms of having room, I think the last several years should have taught us that rosters are more volatile than ever, and people who we fully expect to be here as of this moment will not be. Plus if we end up with 6 guards (just listed), 4 forwards (Billingsley, Holloway, Clark, Bass) and 3 centers (Tim, Malcolm and Ryan), it's not the worst roster balance. But again, doubt we're a factor. My mistake. Maybe I am just recalling posts in the recruiting thread that Rowan may have cooled on us. In any event, I wouldn’t be upset either way.

I don’t think we will land another impact white player under Ewing after McClung. This will have no impact on our trajectory though.

Seems like he’s the backup plan for when Allen leaves after next year or they could play together

And how does one determine "impact white player"? Certainly by rankings alone McClung would have not been considered one coming into college. Is it a 5-Star guy? Someone ranked in the top 100? Or is impact determined solely by the effect this said white player has in the program during his time at Georgetown, regardless of his ranking?

I would assume a "non impact" white player is a walk on like Muresan who never plays/makes an impact. "Impact white player" probably is a rotation player.

I don’t think we will land another impact white player under Ewing after McClung. This will have no impact on our trajectory though. I have had a lot of issues with Ewing as our head basketball coach, but recruiting the players he thinks will help the team is not one of them. The guy brought in McClung and Malinowski, off the top of my head, and each of those guys got a ton of playing time while they were Hoyas. It's seemed to me that he's had more minutes go to white players than pretty much any Georgetown head basketball coach in the last 45-50 years. Of course, it doesn't matter if the players are white, black or green, but I find this particular criticism odd.

There, I got that off my chest. This is the dumbest comment ever by Bigs. Gtown & Patrick will recruit players he thinks will help us win, period! I also don't think we are seen as the team we were in the 80's and 90's by any race so that angle is played.

Ewing will continue to recruit top-150 white players to the program, I just don’t think they ultimately select GU. My statement is not a stretch, there haven’t been many white rotation players on the Hilltop over the past 40 years. Probably, single digits in number.

It hasn't stopped Ewing from recruiting them! I think Ewing is very selective in whom he recruits but appears open to a wide spectrum. Ultimately, players choose where they want to go based upon the opportunities they're presented.

I remember one of the players Big John really wanted was this point guard from Indiana named Matt Painter. Ended up going to Purdue. Alternate history might have ensued, had he gone to GU and been the guy who succeeded Big John, rather than Esherick.

Rare is the person who would call living on the Forty Acres "everything I've ever wanted." Or maybe it's that new arena opening this fall.
