This Friday and Saturday the Hoyas return to action as they compete in the Joe Walker Invitational in Mississippi. guhoyas.com/news/2021/4/8/womens-xc-track-georgetown-set-to-compete-at-joe-walker-invitational.aspxA couple of errors in this write up. Cathilyn McIntosh and Linnea Saltz have already competed this year at the Raleigh Relays, but they will open up with their favored events the 800m at this meet. And Joshua Paige's personal best is 21.54, not the 21.68 mentioned in the article. 21.68 is his Georgetown best.

Women's 1500m
7. Sami Corman 4:18.27 PR 17. Alie Fordyce 4:23.86 28. Maegan Doody 4:33.20
Sami was in 2nd place in the fast heat with one lap to go. She was looking at about a 4:13 if she hung in there.

EDIT: Yes, the rest of the events from Friday night were postponed until today Saturday.

Women's 400m
5. Maya Drayton 56.42 7. Chelsea Smith 56.90 10. Tamiya Roberts 58.54 Linnea Saltz DNS Cathilyn McIntosh DNS
Linnea and Cathilyn did not start due to the fact that they are running the 800m in 40 minutes. They would have run the 400m, if the 800m was last night.

That was a group of great performances by all the Hoya men in the 1500...and when talking sub 4 don't forget transfer Matt Rizzo who ran a 4:02.09 at Stanford last year as a freshman or Theo Woods who certainly has the leg speed...

The women moved up 9 places in the national rankings to #79. Points scored by Sami Corman in the 1500 and Cathilyn McIntosh in the 800m (she is ranked 16th in the nation). The women remain 8th in the region, and they are 6th in the Big East.
The men jumped 30 places to #40. The big scorer is Robert Brandt at #5 in the 1500m and #6 in the 10,000m (although he has times in the 10,000m that would rank him higher in that discipline, but too early for these rankings). The men have moved 2 spots up in the Regional rankings to #4. The men are ranked #3 in the Big East. In the event squad rankings, the men are number 3 in the nation in the 1500m. Rankings are the combined 4 times in that discipline.
1 Villanova 14:43.17 3:40.79 Big East Mid-Atlantic ▲1 (LW: 2) 2 Ole Miss 14:43.28 3:40.82 SEC South NR 3 Georgetown 14:44.88 3:41.22 Big East Mid-Atlantic ▲12 (LW: 15) 4 Oregon 14:47.17 3:41.79 Pac-12 West ▼3 (LW: 1) 5 North Carolina 14:48.49 3:42.12 ACC Southeast ▲17
Oregon, mile city is one behind the Hoyas.
