CBB as we knew it is over. When Overtime Elite, an upstart developmental league, visited the family around April to pitch a paid pathway to their goals, the calculation changed. The Bewley brothers, at 17, were offered deals to play professionally, with a pledge from the league to provide education, insurance and personalized NBA development. In May, they agreed to become the first American basketball players to sign with a U.S. pro league before finishing high school, exchanging their final two prep years for reported seven-figure deals. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/07/12/overtime-elite-g-league-ignite-college-basketball/It will be interesting to see what happens to these companies once the NBA allows HS kids again...

Barstool? I'd rather a player sponsor alcohol (I know that's not allowed) than those clowns...

Seems like an oddly specific thing to add to your social media. More likely he jumped the gun on making public, when Barstool wanted to announce all their signed players at once. Could be wrong though...

Looks like he’s already stopped going to Georgetown English classes… Perhaps his use of the double negative is intentional.

Not sure who has fallen farther, Andy Kennedy or LeBlanc.

Not sure who has fallen farther, Andy Kennedy or LeBlanc. Kennedy is a UAB grad who has returned to coach there and was 22-7 in his first year, a good showing by any demonstration. His years at Ole Miss were about what one would expect from Ole Miss with the level of play that conference. He had two NCAA appearances and six NIT's in 13 seasons and could likely do as well or better at UAB. As for LeBlanc, well, count me among those who thought by the end of his freshman season that he had a bright future, as much or more so than either Akinjo or McClung. Two years later, his play at LSU was almost at the level of a bust: one start in 25 games, averaging just over two FGA per game. The stat sheet of LSU's last five games is telling. SEC quarterfinal vs. Ole Miss: 9 minutes, 0 pts SEC semifinal vs Arkansas: 15 minutes, 4 pts SEC final vs. Alabama: 9 minutes, 0 pts NCAA 1st Round vs. St. Bonaventure: 13 minutes, 3 pts NCAA 2nd Round vs. Michigan: 18 minutes, 2 pts

Maybe just homesick and made his decision without regard to playing time considerations. And doesn't he have a kid? Maybe his family support system is or was in Baton Rouge to help him out.

Sorry if someone has already answered this, but has Georgetown issued any statement or policies regarding NIL deals? Has the Big East? NIL has changed our world. We cant afford to keep our heads in the sand. If our players don’t start getting good NIL contracts, then Georgetown might as well drop to Division II.
