Died today at age of 89. Great man. Great mentor. Great coach. Dear friend of Pops. Many only remember the ugly scene with Calipari in 1994, which is too bad, because he was such a lovely man. But he wouldn't hate that...being remembered as a guy who would go after anyone who threatened one of his charges. Rest In Peace JC

Man I am sad. Too many giants have died over the past 12 months!! Cicely Tyson past yesterday. Ugggh! This really hurts my heart and I am starting to really hate 2020 and now 2021.

One of a kind, which unfortunately means there'll likely never be another in today's sanized age,
I drove from DC to Harford in 1988 to see our eight seed dismantled by Temple's one seed in the tournament.
Jaren Jackson, Mark Tillmon, Perry McDonald, Charles Smith et al. shot 30% in the face of Chaney's defense.
RIP.

Temple was always 18-12 and a tough out! No shame in the Calipari incident. One principled man that didn’t cheat entitled to blasting a used car salesman every now and hen.
RIP Coach Chaney.

He was a pretty good basketball player during his playing days apparently too.

Wherever Pops and Chaney are tonight, you can be sure they are laughing and shaking things up.
RIP to another coaching icon.

Another tough one. So many lost recently. Loved how much he cared and lots of players spoke about how much they loved him. Godspeed.
