He’s not going to sign a loi. This is not a reason for worry and true for a lot of the top guys.

For the dummies like me, YaBoy, why is that? Basically because he doesn't have to. No player really does tbh, but most top level guys leverage their status to avoid it. All you need to sign is the scholarship information. No reason to sign into a binding contract if you can get the same thing without it.

247Sports Composite: 5-star | 0.9934 | No. 20 Overall | No. 3 SG High school: Greenwood Laboratory School (Washington, D.C.) Measurables: 6-5 | 190 Player evaluation: Not long for a wing but has a big, strong build. Can overwhelm opponents with strength and athleticism. Plays with great energy. Competes everywhere on the court. Good ball handler and passer. Scoring off the dribble is his greatest strength. Developing long range shooter. Quality rebounder and defender. Should develop into an first-round NBA draft choice. – 247Sports Director of Basketball Scouting Jerry Meyer NBA Draft projection: First Round Player comparison: Justise Winslow | SF | Memphis Grizzlies 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Where-the-5-star-basketball-recruits-are-heading-for-college-164448461/#1631738_4

I’d imagine that his length of stay in the hilltop is dependent on his 3 point shooting as he is excellent in so many other ways already

I'm hoping for an Otto-like GU career for Aminu. FR year: A better than average starter with a couple of teammates who complement him nicely and collectively lead the team to an NCAA spot. SO year: Absolute stud. Takes on more of the scoring burden and alpha role on offense - star numbers across the stat sheet. Leads a veteran team (King Sr, Harris Jr, Riley So, 5th guy) to challenge for regular season & postseason titles. Then - and only then - will I allow him to leave.

Would love him for 2 years. At the same time though getting another first round pick, especially under Ewing, will do wonders for the program

Has Aminu signed yet? If not, anyone know why? Per YaBoy further up this page, he also expounds upon why it is no reason to be worried a post or two later: He’s not going to sign a loi. This is not a reason for worry and true for a lot of the top guys.

ESPN posted a full two round 2022 draft projection yesterday - Mohammed was not listed. This does not mean much more than a year out, but it does indicate that Mohammed will probably have to play quite well this year to reach a first round draft pick level.
Baldwin was listed as a lottery pick.

Baldwin was listed as a lottery pick. He chose GTown so he won't be on any list without showing the goods. If Baldwin chooses us he'll drop out the lottery...

That would probably be the best case scenario because keeping him two years and then drafted would be great for the program rather than a one and done by giving us more time to properly get things going and get the incoming class old enough to take fully over along with any other recruits we get when he leaves.
