This team is not built for the BET. Not enough bodies

The offense really struggles at times because none of the healthy guys can get their own shot. That’s where we miss Mac so much. Jagan is a set shooter and deserves a ton of credit for improving it throughout his career. But he’s not a guy that can dribble into it, needs a drive and kick situation. I think I’d be able better appreciate how this team has hung in this year if it wasn’t a complete reset next year.

How does a team win at Butler and lose to Depaul year in and year out?

This team is not built for the BET. Not enough bodies Guys have been logging heavy minutes and are clearly fatigued. Plus it seems like everyone is banged up in some way. Tough spot to be in.

Weems won this game for DePaul. Great physical D on Blair and those three 3s in the first half were key to the win. Defense on Blair was really good. Also running him into doubles that release to get back to their man. Allen not really being a shooter, Mosely still dinged up and not shooting much, and Pickett out hurt for a roughly 8 minute stretch didn't help.

Crazy to think after the Butler game that an NIT bid wouldn’t be the floor, but now that’s prob dependent on beating Xavier. Can’t see us winning any of the other games.

How does a team win at Butler and lose to Depaul year in and year out? 10/15 from 3 compared to 4/18. Quite simple actually

How does a team win at Butler and lose to Depaul year in and year out? The same Butler team that also lost to DePaul?

The guard seem to have no confidence in the big men besides Omer. When he is in the game they religiously try to get him the ball. When Wahab or Igoeffe are in the game they must get their shots off of the glass.

This year is tough to describe man. Struggling for the words. Having been at MSG for Texas and Duke it really is amazing what has happened since then.

I was there too and left the building thinking we were on the verge of breaking out and having a 3 year run with this group of sophomores. Sigh.

Box Score: stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=278055&vislive=guActually outrebounded DePaul 39-37 but 14 turnovers and 4-18 from three were killer. As I said in an earlier post, Weems (and a few others) did a great job making sure Blair had no space at all on the perimeter. Something I hope to see again someday by Hoya defenders. Pickett tweaking a calf in what was his best offensive game this year was just another thing to add to this snakebitten season. If Yurtseven had this lift and lack of mobility tonight he was right to stay off the court last game.

Both need 500 or 600 hours in the gym starting the day after the season ends.

When he is open, I say give him the ball.

Q seems to need to be directed by Pat constantly when in the game. Love what he has been doing but he does have significant limitations now. Look out in the future though.

Blair was clearly a main focus on the scouting report after the first meeting
