Positively impacting the wins analysis is that 2 of them are road victories and 1 of them is a neutral court victory.

AP POLL out - we are NOWHERE with just 3 - three - votes. Didn’t we have 4 votes last week? Does ESPN influence this poll too??

Interesting that we went from 4 votes last week to 3 this week, but... more to prove.

Remember, at least as it was used last year, the big thing with NET isn't necessarily your own ranking but how you did against teams in Quadrants 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Q1 games are 1-30 (home); 1-50 (neutral); and 1-75 (away). So....we're 2-2 in Q1 so far. That's pretty darned good out of conference.
It would be very helpful if SMU could end up top 75 and Texas could stay top 50. That would preserve one Q1 win and add another.
As of now, we'd have a whopping 10 more opportunities at Q1 wins (not counting BET).
Just to put that in perspective, ASU got in last year with a 3-3 Q1 record. Temple got in with a 2-6 Q1 record.
St. John's was the last team in and they were 5-7 against Q1 but they had a few really bad losses. If you assume we may have some ups and downs, that may be a decent comp for us.
In any event, the bottom line is that we've done what we need to do. We're in position.

AP POLL out - we are NOWHERE with just 3 - three - votes. Didn’t we have 4 votes last week? Does ESPN influence this poll too?? All the votes (#1=25 votes, #2=24 etc.) are coming from just one writer, Sam Blum of the Dallas Morning News. He ranked GU #22 (equals four votes) after the SMU game, #23 after Syracuse.

A credit to his paper. Kudos, Mr. Blum! And kudos Dallas Morning News!

More to earn, more to prove. First, take care of business in the next 3. Then, 2 road games to open BIG EAST play--@providence and @ a weakened Seton Hall--will give us plenty of opportunity to prove we belong, along with a home game vs. St. John's. After that, the road gets tougher.

Traveling to Seton Hall in early January before their center returns is a significant for the Hoyas. We need to take full advantage, I would expect SHU to make a run in February to make that win a solid one.

Coaches are probably just looking at records. WE've got 3 losses. If we win the next three against subpar competition, we will be 10-3 and my guess is we sniff the polls then. The Provy & Seton Hall start to the season looks more palatable as well.

I’m with you and would love to get the Provy win as well....but let’s remind ourselves....one game at a time. At this point, we’ve helped our chances in the OCC more than anything. The season was on the brink of being over just two weeks ago....crazy!!
