I thought Jimmy nose picker was spot on. Also thought he was trying to be complimentary of Ewing. He also was saying things to benefit him. He didn’t lose to a team with 3 losses. He lost to a different team. We all happen to hope he was right about being a really really good team now. Boeheim said all the things that if one of us on this board said...we’d be slammed for. Sometimes it’s okay to speak the truth. I will add this...some of the players that left simply didn’t want to be coached....period. If Boeheim said that....he again would have been absolutely correct. Not sure if anyone caught Ewing laying into Mac for a couple of bad shots he took yesterday....I mean yelling followed by the death stare. Mac’s response?....my bad coach...pointing to himself. The remaining guys on the team want to be coached. It makes all the difference. Yet weeks ago people wanted McClung to be benched. SMH.

That's actually a pretty touching story. As toxic as he seemed to be for the team, I really do wish him the best. I hope he learns from this experience and has a successful career.

Apparently the idea had some merit.

Coach Wiese said in an interview after winning the NCAA championship in soccer last night that the players love each other and it showed on the field. Many of the players stated that the coach had a game plan and we stuck with it. Very telling as I look at our basketball program. I feel like we are in a good place now.

Thank you for sharing. Still wishing him the best. Many of us can't imagine what he has been through, to develop the me against the world attitude. I don't know if he can find a better teacher than Coach.

That is a great story. The third photo of a young James smiling is touching. Hope he finds what he is looking for out there and I hope he succeeds in basketball and life. I don’t know how James feels, but every Hoya I know had nothing but love for him while he was here — an absolute warrior.

Nothing to see here. Not even worth discussing any more. We have a seven player team and a recruit that is gone. NO need to discuss what happened any more. Old news.

Incredibly frustrating. Part of me believes sans faculty letter, we still have Gardner and Alexander. I’m glad they felt the need to take matters into their own hands, 4 days prior to the police closing the investigation.

I say the best way to move on, at least for this board is to close this thread It can only produce more bad then good at this point if you ask me...

Especially Galen, not really anywhere for him to go

My "time to move on" post was mainly in response to the discussion of 'what happened' in the personal interactions of former players and other students: with investigations being dropped etc it is not likely there will be any other reliable details about what happened other than conjecture. The students in question have moved on from the basketball team, as has James Akinjo. If anyone wants to discuss why this happened under this coaching staff, fair game. That's why we have not locked this thread. The other thread was moved to 37th and O because as I posted, the discussion more towards the overall University response to the situation. That one is open as well and easy to find.

I just looked at the recap of our Providence game on the CBS Sports app. Among our bench players they listed Gardner. What's the story? I haven't heard of any transfer destination.

I googled Myron 2wks ago and couldn't find anything stating where he is going. Myron is the only one of the four that I would want back. Knowing what I know now... I hope he finds a good landing spot....

If a guy like Gardner says he's transferring but doesn't say where he is going does he keep his scholarship, remain on campus, and continue to attend classes? Can you change your mind? Seems obvious that once you stop playing you would lose your scholarship but is that an NCAA rule or does each school handle it differently?
