As a fan, this is truly heart breaking to see. We obviously are lacking a lot of facts here, but it’s depressing to see this happen. Obviously, to the extent any individual did anything wrong, they are personally responsible and should face the consequences.
That said, it’s troubling that these are now the 3rd and 4th dismissals in the last few years. It very well could be bad luck in recruiting, but if it doesn’t raise a red flag about the way in which our players are being handled from above or the program’s control over its own players, nothing will.
There will be plenty of time for discussion of the consequences of what is happening, and I am sure I will weigh in later on that, but I think if Ewing is going to move forward in any positive way, this needs to be addressed in some manner at the right moment.

Incredibly disappointing developments. Hope the victims are ok
Let's remember that an allegation is just that-- an allegation-- until and unless proven. I know that's not popular in this contemporary culture but it is the law, and is in the best interests of all parties concerned.--Admin

I don't get though why LeBlanc was the only one seemingly being disciplined? Alexander and Gardner seemed to be getting the playing time one would have thought...
I still don't get the timing as it relates to Akinjo then either, as if there were no legal issues, why is he leaving, other than getting off a sinking ship. And even if that's the case, why wouldn't he stay the rest of the year? Does the extra semester buy him earlier eligibility?

If rules were broken have no problem with walking papers.
They know the rules.
Have no problem with staff letting them go.
Everyone here saw a previous player not follow rules.
want players that want to be here (not directed at any specific player)

Not on social media so I have no idea what the rumors, speculation and innuendo might be. Of course this is a big loss of talent for the team. But we still have talent on this team, and kids and staff that want to play their hearts out for the blue and gray. We run with what we got.
I have to think Patrick and the staff are more disappointed and disheartened by this than we are, but they have a team to coach and young men to teach. Go ahead and b*tch and moan about this. I still trust that this will strengthen the program in the end.
Coddle these kids? Cater to them to keep them happy, no matter what they do? Hope I never see that.

Akinjo moving on appears to be voluntary and who can blame him. This is now Mac and Yurts team.
Sad how things have spiraled out of control. Who knew the Texas game would be the highlight of our season.

I'd have to assume that there has been some type of internal investigation at GU before today's news became public. The issue may come down to degree of involvement and culpability (i.e., active participant vs. mere spectator). I've been a Hoya fan since my freshman year at First New North (1974). I've been one of those who has gleefully pointed fingers at Syracuse whenever one of their basketball players has encountered off-court issues. Looks like I've been living in a glass house for some indeterminate amount of time. And I'm not happy about it.

I am sure Ewing is very unhappy but at some point the guy at the top needs to take responsibility. The guys named in the complaints are all his recruits. Again, it is not Ewing’s fault these guys may have done what is alleged, but at some point you can’t just blame the players.

This situation is horrible. Can't say anything else. Nowhere near my area of expertise, but this is horrible. No other words. I can only see how this plays out and what happens to Gardner and Alexander as a result. I hope the victims are ok and feel safe.

Correct, I should've clarified that. My apologies. Just completely in shock.

Are posts being deleted? Yes. Check the header on this page in general, and board rules in specific. - Admin.Seems unnecessary. This is all spilling out into the open pretty quickly, and the school won’t be able to wait to do something. These were the same rules on the board when John was here, or for Craig, or for JT III, and for Patrick. This is not a rumor board. While speculation is a fact of life on message boards, there is a fine line not to cross. Issues of academic standing, intra-team issues, or personal information unsuitable in a public forum concerning recruits, student-athletes, coaches, or staff are unwelcome and may be pulled without warning. If you are unsure and have a question, ask offline first..--Admin

FWIW didn't this same thing happen to Maryland a few years ago? If I recall a year or two after Turgeon took over there was a wholesale house cleaning.

Looking online, only court records for MG,GA, and JL He finishes the semester. Transfers and files for a hardship waiver. Him being immediately eligible could end up in court, see all the Ole Miss players. He has a legit case 3 players caught in a serious legal case.

Have to acknowledge though that these dismissals are truly humbling for a program and fan base that like to place the players on a pedestal. Question is not whether the dismissals were warranted but rather why these are happening again in such a short timeframe. That is going to require some explanation from the coach. This will put Hoya rebuild back years. For some of us older fans the thought of waiting another 5 years for relevance is truly depressing, particularly when there were so many questions outstanding about whether the program was truly on track to begin with.

Not sure that this fact pattern qualifies as a hardship waiver under NCAA "rules."

In-studio analysts said they will be talking about Georgetown players “dismissals” at halftime on ESPN 2. 2:54 left in first half

The next day all the players named and involved in that case played against Texas. That needs to be explained.
