I googled Myron 2wks ago and couldn't find anything stating where he is going. Myron is the only one of the four that I would want back. Knowing what I know now... I hope he finds a good landing spot.... I've asked this question before but never really got an answer. If a guy like Gardner says he's transferring but doesn't say where he is going does he keep his scholarship, remain on campus, and continue to attend classes? Can you change your mind? Seems obvious that once you stop playing you would lose your scholarship but is that an NCAA rule or does each school handle it differently? I think the better question in this specific case is whether his reported transfer was voluntary, not whether he's hanging out on campus taking classes and taking some "me" time second semester.

If I recall it was very voluntary, i.e. he left because he was upset that he was unjustly caught up in the whole LeBlanc/Alexander affair and felt the University didn't support him.

I'm still trying to locate where Gardner transferred. It looks like Myron Gardner transferred to South Plains College, a junior college in Levelland, TX.

Surprised he did not end up at a power 5 conference school. He was recruited by some pretty big time schools. I hope it works out for the young man. I thought he had some real potential with the Hoyas and it was too bad it did not work out.

(Maybe a result of the stress of all the accusations) Only explanation for a talent like him to end up at Juco.

I always assumed that coach Ewing showed Akinjo the door because the player seemed to ignore direction from the sideline, although very talented leaving the program was best for both parties. I have to believe that a player under those circumstances would be granted a waiver because him leaving wasn't technically his decision. I wish him the best, will be interesting to see if he matures as a player and more readily involves his teammates while running the Coach's offense.

Frustration with the way the team played? The way the LeBlanc situation was handled? Battle with McClung? Maybe he was about to lose his starting job to Allen? Whatever the case may be, I don't believe Ewing ran him off. Sodom and Walker got themselves in trouble off the court -- got tossed for cause. Nothing like that was mentioned at the time Akinjo left. Not surprised he's immediately eligible because so many kids are these days --- and this year was a one time, covid disaster. No question the kid has enormous talent. Meanwhile, Patrick has lots more talent comimg in.

The NCAA waivers are a joke at this point.

My biggest concern with all of this is still the impact to our APR. Will be interesting to see the results in a month or two.

Akinjo played the most minutes (32) in that UNCG game and Allen was the first substitution and he replaced Mac who only played 22 minutes and only finished with 2 fouls so if Ewing was ready for Akinjo's departure he didn't show it in his final game as a Hoya. LeBlanc's forced departure probably was the key factor.

Based on some back of the envelope math it's going to be close this year. Considering the whole season was cancelled due to the pandemic. One could argue it shouldn’t count

Also Yurtseven missed that dunk, the defense stunk and none of Mac, James, and Yurt shot it over 50% (or even close for that matter). I can't put that game on James. The team was awful that game. Miller had a better gameplan and outcoached Ewing. UNCG controlled the tempo, the physicality and legit everything else. We were awful. James didn't help to be very clear, but that game can't be put only on him.
