In no scenario is Carey not ahead of Sibley. Carey is a proven commodity. Yeah, Carey did not come back for this upcoming year to come off the bench. He will be a starter and team leader this upcoming year. I have no inside information and Sibley could announce he is entering the portal in the next hour, but I would think if he was not happy at the school or with the program or staff, he would have announced his intentions a while ago and found a new school by now. If I had to guess, he was waiting to see what happened with Baldwin and Pickett, and if either of them was going to be on the roster for next year, he would then look for somewhere with a cleaner path to more playing time. Both Baldwin and Pickett are not going to be part of the program next year, so hopefully Sibley see his best opportunity to be with the Hoyas. I think Carey came back to play whatever role Coach Ewing asks him to play. He seems like a prototypical team player.

Dante, Carey, etc. will do whatever it takes to help the team.

Timing wise, my feeling is this was all coordinated with PBJ and PBS and he'll go back home to Milwaukee. UW-MW is like 10 minutes south of Nicolett HS. I feel like the delay in the decision was just to assemble and secure a solid team to surround PBJ for his 1 year at UW-MW. That's what I predict will happen.

But I do think that isn't a great idea for his own potential career long-term. Where will Milwaukee be after next year? PBJ won't be there, and Patrick Baldwin Sr. might not be either. We will see. But no PBJ and Jamorko just opened up a nice spot for Sibley to emerge (if he wants it). He showed he has some game, it only looked like he lacked confidence or a "green light" to try stuff. That's something most freshmen deal with. I hope he sticks around for year 2, where the sky could be the limit for him. There's a lot of minutes to be had in the 4 and 3 spot on the current roster.

Good point. He would be stuck at UW-MW having used his one free sit out after PBJ leaves (and maybe PBS). Of course alot of these kids just follow the leader and aren't really thinking. I think Myron and Galen would have both been better off staying at Georgetown then follow Mac/Akinjo/LeBlanc out of here.

Galen at least had some success with Texas Southern and made the tournament... Myron fell off the face of the planet...

I really hope Jamari stays. There were glimpses of talent there. He can shoot, has length. I saw him grab a couple huge rebounds last year which showed he had some hops. He's pretty athletic for a guy 6'8. He looked like a guy that really could develop over the next couple years into a big piece for this team.
Hopefully this is just a situation where there was smoke, but NO fire.

Wilson now featured in a video. Is Sibley the only undergraduate player not to be seen in a recent GU hoops video?

Now that Jarmorko has made it official, it's time to put Sibley in the starting lineup. We have to have baptism by fire and we need to invest the time into the young man, be patient and allow him to learn from his mistakes in hopes of a blossom over the next couple of years.

I hope the rumors on this board are not true and he stays. He showed much potential from my perspective. He played patiently. But now is the time to let it roll.

I mean, Sibley didn't show much, but as Hilltop Hoops pointed out, Ewing has now lost the top ranked recruit for each of the last 3 classes. Part of me is concerned by this, but part of me just says this is the new era of college hoops.

Not good. Obviously Pat is struggling to find guys who fit and thrive with his style, but this year's kids seem like a better match to the ethos he seems to be going for. Only time will tell, but would have liked to have seen Sibley thrive here. Instead, NEXT!
