Brandon Gardner
“Georgetown talks to me about being a special player and how much they can’t wait for me to get on campus for a visit.”
He added, “Both schools are really great basketball schools, and both are serious about academics too. I’m just ready for COVID-19 to be over so I can finally meet the coaches and players.”

According to a member on the other board in the know we offered Breeland recently. He’s number 10 in this video. He was 2022 and reclassified to 2023.

Ewing and assistant coaches were at the Gonzaga v St. John's high school summer league game and caught Amani Hansberry, a 6'8" rising freshman (2023) for St. John's not only hold his own, but defended Gonzaga's top 2 players inside really well and was an inside and mid-range scorer leading St. John's. He has great footwork and as a moves well for a young still growing player with size. Former Hoya assistant David Cox, now Rhode Island head coach, was there with his assistant and former Hoya assistant Kevin Sutton. They were around the following day to have another look (they also are recruiting Ish Legget) and made Amani an offer Tuesday. Amani is going to be special at the prep level and connecting with Patrick he could really be a showcase player at the next level as well. Amani Hansberry debuted as the No. 19 ranked player in the 2023 Rivals150. This currently makes him the No. 2 overall center in his class. Hansberry is slated to have his first game his high school season in Washington D.C. next week. Like many, Hansberry was not able to play travel ball this summer, meaning his last official game he played was on Feb. 26. However, with this downtime, Hansberry was able to take full advantage of improving his skill set. “During the summer I was able to work on my ball-handling and 3-point shooting, really my overall perimeter game,” Hansberry said, “I would describe my game as diverse. I can rebound, push the ball, pass, shoot and I am very strong in the mid-post area of the floor.” This diverse game has brought the early attention of many college programs, and while college coaches are not yet allowed to contact Hansberry directly, he has garnered some early offers that stick out to him. Rhode Island: “I love how they play. They get after it on the defensive end and play quick and fast on transition. The head coach has a strong relationship with St John’s College, which is the school I go to now.” DePaul: “I love how they finish every game with high intensity. I also like the way Coach (Dave) Leitao runs the team.” Virginia Tech: “I love how Virginia Tech always performs strongly on both the defensive end and offensive end. They are very fun to watch.” LSU: “I like how LSU gets out and runs pushing the ball and always looking up, it allows their athletes to get dunks and bring energy to the team.” Texas A&M: “I like how Texas A&M hustles and dives on the floor for 50/50 balls. I also love how they move the ball on offense and play through their wings and big.” Howard: “I like how Howard gets out and runs, I also like how they play aggressive defense.” Tennessee: “I love how Tennessee moves the ball on offense but can also get out and run. I like how they are able to get after it on defense as well.” Mississippi State: “I like how Mississippi State moves the ball on offense to get open dunks and shots. I also like how they play defense at a high intensity.” Pittsburgh: “I like how Pitt uses their big man in their offense as well as using screens and dribble hand-offs to get open shots.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/amani-hansberry-s-recruitment-is-wide-open

The original post says Ewing was monitoring him 1.5 years ago. Have we kept tabs on him since then?

Kwame Evans, Jr. is a name to get familiar with. He debuted as the No. 2 ranked player in the introductory 2023 Rivals150 and college coaches have already made sure to know his name. “I currently have offers from USC, Maryland, Kansas, TCU, Tennessee, Georgetown, George Washington, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Florida, Mississippi State, Illinois, LSU, Auburn and Texas A&M.” Evans, Jr. said, “I would say I talk to George Washington, Illinois, Maryland and Pitt the most.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/kwame-brown-stacking-up-high-major-offers

He might be the second best player in his class, and based on upside alone he is about as good as it can get.

The process is still early for Lemond as college coaches are still not able to contact him directly. “My coaches have heard from Creighton, Georgetown, Villanova, Georgia, Michigan, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech, but they haven’t offered.” Lemond continued, “I want to go somewhere with a brotherhood mentality. I want to be pushed to levels I’ve never been pushed before and somewhere where I’m going to succeed on and off the court.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/jayden-lemond-is-gathering-offers-but-it-s-still-early-for-him

According to Gardner, other programs have also really picked things up, “Georgetown is talking to me a lot, North Carolina called, Kentucky called, Florida State has called,

I tend to think that the class of '23 is far away, but it is not! DC generally produces guards and forwards. Really big guys in my long memory tend to be far and few in between, but we have a young man on the rise at SJC that MUST become a Hoya, Armani Hansberry. The coach has his eye on him, and the young man is making noise which coaches across the country have heard. He's a talented big fella with many skills. We have successfully recruited from SJC: Chris Wright, and Tre Campbell. Don't let Amani leave town. He will complement the talent we're bringing in between now and then. Coach Ewing, show him some love.
