Looks like a great pickup to back up James and provide some firepower off the bench. (And comes most recently from a program used to winning).

UCF vs Duke highlights from the tourney. Allen is #2, had 7 assists and played 35 min in that game.

So Terrell and Galen are known for their defense?! Prepare for a new look.

Very interested to see how he's used. He is a good defender and if he can shoot 40% from 3 again he deserves a good bit of minutes. The question is where do those minutes come from? Hard to see him being happy going form 30 MPG to 10.

Great signing. Very happy with it, and good get by the staff and Ewing.

The 40% number from behind the arc is a little misleading, because he only made 26 3Pts last year (would have ranked 7th among GU players), so he isn't much of a threat to shoot or score. But he is a solid perimeter defender, and we really needed help there. Solid pickup.

In my dream scenario, we force a lot more turnovers (including from a much stronger press with a shot-eraser on the back end), and push the tempo even faster than this year.
That would mean more possessions (if not actual minutes) to go around. I think you could find at least 15-20 minutes in a game, if James is playing 25-30.
It also means we're solidly 2-deep at a lot of positions, depending on where Coach wants to slot Mosely.
Akinjo/Allen/Mosely Mac/Mosely/Blair Pickett/Alexander/Mosely/LeBlanc LeBlanc/Carter/Wahab Yurt/Wahab/Carter/Ighoefe/Wilson (if the last doesn't redshirt)

Welcome to the Hilltop Terrell!
Will be a great back-up to James and also provide some maturity and seniority. Great to hear he's a defensive guy too.

Welcome to Terrell Allan! This addresses a huge need . . . perimeter defense. Hopefully he can share his skillset with Mackinjo and raise the level of defensive intensity in the backcourt overall. Interested to see where his minutes come from. Seems like the Hoyas will be playing some intense defense with plenty of bodies to rotate in and out.

Last year's minutes Akinjo 31 Mac 26 Mosely 18 Blair 12
Also, Greg at 16 -- more at SF But we had Mosely out there with Mackinjo at times too.
If James or Mac pick up a quick two early in the first half? No worries - in come Allen.
The guards as a group can be more aggressive on D, without worrying as much about fouls. Someone gets tired, hurt, foul trouble, bad game, has trouble with an opposing guard (e.g. Marcus Howard, Myles Powell... ) Patrick has another option. I bet he gets plenty of minutes. And if he can shoot the three at 40%, Patrick will encourage him to take more. And in our offense, that should be easy.
When we play Nova and their 3 guard offense? We can counter.
I think Terrell is a great addition for this coming year - we are lucky to have a guy with his experience signing on. And a year from now, if we are on RJ Davis and all kinds of quality kids? No problem. Schollie will be available once again.
Win all around for Coach and team. Congrats. Well done!

Hard to see him being happy going form 30 MPG to 10. I'm expecting constant lineup rotations, match up based play and a lot of small ball. Is it realistic to say that Wilson and Tim I both redshirt?

Very good pickup, gives the backcourt better depth and defense, and would also free up the scholarship for good 2020 guard recruits. I think the minutes issue will not be a problem at all. We really had only two top level guards last year in James and Mac, and they were both up and down. With an added year of experience with James and Mac and an experienced solid defender in Allen Pat has a better rounded more flexible roster.

It is my hope that this with the front court recruits there will be enough athletes to press much of the game. I know that the definition of fouls have changed greatly from the days Patrick played here, but distinguishing the Hoyas as a dominant defensive team is essential as we claw our way back to respectability.

There will be 8-10 backup PG minutes and 10-15 back SG minutes. For all of the talk about a 3 guard lineup you can do that when the guards are 6' 6'2 and 6'3.
