basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/evans-seven-april-s-big-winners7. Georgetown Jessie Govan has exhausted all of his college eligibility, but April was so kind to the Hoyas that the loss of its all-league player has come without much noise. Georgetown will bring back much of its underclassmen talent next year. Mac McClung, James Akinjo, Josh LeBlanc and JaMarko Pickett all return. They will be bolstered by the services of Omer Yurtseven, a former NC State standout who sat out last season due to transfer restrictions. The Hoyas have added even more to their core group over the past 30 days, with former LSU product and junior college forward Galen Alexander, a top remaining senior this spring in Myron Gardner and grad-transfer Terrell Allen, who should immediately help in the scoring department next year. Altogether, the Hoyas now have an even better chance of playing in next season’s NCAA Tournament.

Interesting in the fact that it looks like Broadus has chosen Morgan State over Howard?

Very well stated by Powell...
It answers the "he has nothing left to prove in college" theory that's posted about on the board pretty well too...

JT3 might be on the bench with Coach Broadus.

BIG EAST
Georgetown: B+ Seton Hall: B+ Creighton: B Xavier: B Villanova: B- Marquette: B- Providence: C St. John's: C Butler: C- DePaul: C-
This bunched-up grade distribution is a fitting tribute to a league where anybody could lose to anybody. Villanova and Marquette took turns trying to give each other the league's top spot during the regular season, then flamed out on the first weekend of the tournament in the presence of superior individual offensive performances on the part of Purdue's Carsen Edwards and Murray State's Ja Morant. The Wildcats had been relying on the frequency of their three-pointers; the Golden Eagles, on the accuracy of them. It was impressive when it was clicking, but that didn't happen as often as anyone hoped.
March sleeper candidates St. John's and Seton Hall burned bright but went one-and-done in the tournament. The Red Storm failed to win three or more games in a row once conference play began.
Now for the good news: Georgetown took an encouraging step forward in year two under Patrick Ewing and entered the Big East tournament with an outside shot of playing its way into the Big Dance. Creighton whiffed on its opportunities for signature wins but won five in a row to end the season. DePaul won more conference games than it has in any single season since its second year in the Big East, 2006–07.

He is a Morgan State alum so I would assume that played into it some. He has clearly helped UMD on the recruiting front. It will be interesting if they can maintain their off the court momentum.

6. Valparaiso transfer big man Derrik Smits chooses Butler
The Bulldogs desperately needed another big after Joey Brunk decided to leave for Indiana. Smits can immediately help be a factor in the Big East, where having a major threat inside can create separation.
9. DePaul picks up Kansas transfer Charlie Moore
DePaul needed another scoring guard and Moore was in search of a second fresh start. Moore averaged a dozen points for Cal as a freshman. He transferred to Kansas, but he couldn’t get on the floor in any consistent manner, let alone make shots at a high rate, averaging just under three points per game. Devon Dotson, Quentin Grimes and at times Lagerald Vick were all options ahead of Moore. But Moore didn’t forget how to play the game. He still has the skills to be effective. The hope is that he will find his stroke again in his hometown of Chicago.

Several Big East teams in the top 25 (including Nova in the top 5), but no Hoyas...

Several Big East teams in the top 25 (including Nova in the top 5), but no Hoyas... I expect Nova to be a good team again this upcoming year, but I don't see them as a top 5 team. They lost their two top scorers to graduation and while they do have some other players who showed promise, none of them were consistent scoring threats. If Booth and Paschall did not both have big nights for them then they struggled last year. They do have an impressive incoming freshman class but counting on those freshman to lead your team to that kind of ranking is wishful thinking. Freshman in Jay Wright's system usually play a secondary role as they get used to his system and the way they want to play. I am not ripping Nova and I think they are certainly a tournament team next year, I just think a top 5 rating is a reach.

I think Nova will go as Samuels goes and I think Samuels is gonna have a good year. People are basing expectation on the freshmen doing a lot but freshmen usually struggle. I think when its all said and done Nova will be in the 10-15 range....2020 will be the year that they will be championship contenders if they find a good PG....
